"four of us have a late midday visit to the shrewsbury arms, mickle metford very pleasant outside and inside, very clean. first masks were not required (but they can wear a mask if they want). handgel available. we were immediately shown on a table, no booking, but it was 2:30 on the afternoon. probably 20 minutes wait to come to lunch, but it shows that the meal was cooked for us. I had a beautiful broken fish, very large, large rugged chips that were really good and muddy heaps. service was good, waiter/waitresses very attentive and polite. good parking."

Ordered chicken and ribs. chicken a little over cooked for me also Ordered steak pie and chips really enjoyed the meals other than above would recommend. Nice to see different meals. We will be back when in the area.

for Sunday dinner had the lamb plate, absolutely beautiful ordered the cauliflower cheese as side could not fail. there were a lot of people who would try the fish and chips that saw amazing look the next time. the personal was beautiful. definitely back.

We have been to the Shrewsbury so many times before and always experienced excellent service and food, but this time the service was slow, almost painful and even when asked after nearly an hour from ordering where our food might be up to, we didn't get a satisfactory reply or any apology. Need to improve the service and PR with the customer.

Arrived to find the pub fairly quiet, we had booked in advance. Despite the place not appearing to be busy it took just over 1hour to receive our order of a children's sausage and mash, adults, beefburger, fish cake and lasagne. Overall the food was fine but nothing special and certainly no reason for the 1hour wait. Staff were very polite and friendly.
