"The waitress who took our order was great. The one who came to take our plates away didn't say anything, smile or make eye contact. I mentioned it to my husband and I think the original waitress overheard as she disappeared and shortly after, the second one came back with a smile and offered the dessert menu. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We couldn't believe it when the staff started to do a deep clean of the furniture, dragging chairs out etc. Surely this should be done when there are no customers? The food was excellent though."

"I loved Cafe One! It's nestled in the ex mining village of Cambois, and is along the sustrans cycle route of the coast. The staff are friendly, the food is home made and a good price they also do ice creams (great for taking to the nearby beach on a hot day! I have not been here for a breakfast yet but i definitely will soon!"

"Considering we booked a table in advance I was disappointed to be told we had to wait as there was non available, eventually was given a table but no menu had to look around to find one. We ordered starters and main course then waited and waited until the starters appeared but NO CUTLERY I had to ask at the bar for some we then waited another age to have the dishes removed then another wait for the main course to arrive but guess what NO CUTLERY, then another wait to have the dishes removed and order some sweets after another long wait the sweets turned up and guess what NO CUTLERY once again a search for a member of staff to get some spoons. The food was good but the service!!!! Staff training seems to be lacking"

"We were staying in the village of Cresswell and Lynemouth was the nearest place for some Chinese food that we could find so we thought we would give this place a try. We ordered 3 meals from this place. A Chicken Curry, Chicken in Blackbean and Beef Satay, with each dish costing c.£7. I requested the Chicken Curry to be made spicy (just a personal preference) but maybe they forgot to add the chili as the curry was very mild. The curry sauce was rather watery and the chicken most certainly did not taste fresh but tasted frozen. The Chicken Blackbean had a salty taste and again, the chicken tasted frozen. On the positive side, there was a nice amount of veg (peppers and onions) and they were nice and crunchy. The Beef Satay was marginally better, although there was a distinct lack of beef. There are takeaways restaurants in Ashington just s few miles further so I will try one of them next time."

"We dined here over the Bank Holiday. We'd left it late to book anywhere as 16 of us had travelled to Northumberland from Lancashire for the weekend for a family get together. We called ahead to book for a party of 16., They made up a large table and were ready for us descending on them. We'd eaten the night before at the hotel. They were suffering from staff shortages, food shortages and was overall chaos! So we were ready for a bit of an issue with the food coming out etc and to be honest we weren't too bothered. What we actually got was first class! Firstly, the service was amazing. Very attentive, helpful and welcoming throughout our meal. Secondly the food. We all ordered something different from the menu and none of us were disappointed. All the food came out together for both courses and were delicious. The only issue that I have is that the place is miles from home and it will be a while before we can eat there again.....but we will be back."
