Visited this place passing through. Staff are really welcoming and friendly. And honestly the food is amazing. I had the chicken arabiatta and it was lovely. Would 100% come back.

Visited as a group of 11 friends from West Yorkshire, staying in the area to celebrate 65th birthdays. Have to say the food was excellent as was the service we received, would certainly recommend.

The keeps coming up in searches but it’s now called IL GIRASOLE. Don’t know if it’s changed hands or just names. Anyway this confusion nearly put us off going and so pleased it didn’t as IL GIRASOLE is great.

My partner and I dined at La Cucina and were blown away by the amazing food and high standards. The staff were lovely and down to earth. The only issue we had was that we couldn't enjoy our meal in peace because the pub next door had their music playing so loudly that the floor was vibrating. This was not the restaurant's fault at all. Despite this, I would still visit again.

Called in while visiting area after reading reviews. Couldn't believe it was so quiet as the food was very good. Garlic bread was the best I have had, King Prawn starter was delicious. and wife said her tagliatelle bolognese was very tasty though far too much for her. I had hoped to have the mixed fish with lobster but the Cartoccio (mussels, seafood, sea bass and salmon) was very good.

We had dinner at this restaurant on our last night of vacation at a caravan park nearby. The food was very good and the service was friendly. The prices were very reasonable. As others have mentioned, the outside area is a bit uninviting and the music from the bar next door was loud, but once inside the restaurant it was muffled. Despite these minor drawbacks, it is truly a hidden gem of a restaurant and very welcoming to families.

What a great find! We ate here on a Sunday night when we were the only people eating in although there were plenty of takeaways and deliveries. We were welcomed with a smile and offered the menu and a drink straightaway. I had meat ravioli and my partner had lasagne- both homemade and delicious. We also ordered garlic bread and this came in the form of a wafer thin pizza and was lovely. Although we did consider a pudding, to be honest, they were all to cake based so we passed on these. Certainly a lovely meal

After reading some great reviews, we decided to visit this restaurant for dinner tonight during our 4-day stay in Ashington. I was a bit hesitant at first due to the surroundings and decor, but the food turned out to be fantastic! My husband and I both had 3 courses and all of them were delicious. I had the best pizza I've had in a long time and my husband's steak was cooked perfectly. The service was top-notch and the prices were very reasonable. We still have 2 more nights in Ashington and we have already decided to go back before we leave.

We dined here over the Bank Holiday. We'd left it late to book anywhere as 16 of us had travelled to Northumberland from Lancashire for the weekend for a family get together. We called ahead to book for a party of 16., They made up a large table and were ready for us descending on them. We'd eaten the night before at the hotel.
