"My husband and I returned to the Seagrave Arms recently on our way home to London from up North. We wanted to stay at this lovely little Inn again as we remembered it being lovely with great food, great service and very clean and smart.Unfortunately since it has been taken over with a New Management Group (unbeknown to us we were very disappointed at how this once little gem has suffered with a new owner. The food was awful, Mushroom soup was lumpy lacked any taste, the bread had been warmed up in microwave (menu claiming to be all homemade! the dining room lacked atmosphere, the glasses on the table were dirty, had to ask the waitress if she would lite our table candle doing so she then decided to lite the candles on the other tables even though nobody was sitting at them! Our fish chips (Haddock with soft mushy batter and (award winning chips were frozen potato wedges piled underneath the fish! The tartar sauce was smeared across the plate served with a spoonful of frozen packet peas! There wasn't even a lemon wedge on the plate or the offer of vinegar! The area outside our room was shabby with cupboard doors hanging off, a stepladder, an ironing board and a floor mop along with heaps of bedlinen were all leaned up against the wall outside our room! The carpet was dirty and threadbare some even with holes! Thank goodness the bed was comfortable and the bedlinen and bathroom towels were spotless. As for the rest of the room, it all looked very unkempt and tired looking. The breakfast the following morning was ok. Needless to say we will not be returning, its a great shame as The Seagrave Arms was once a delightful place to eat and stay at."

Popped in for lunch, however no vegetarian food available on menu. Had to get back in the car and find somewhere else for lunch!

We booked a table for four. Very small bar area: soup came in small warm jars, with no bread offer. Three had the beef cheek that was tasty but small portions without vegetables, my husband had the lamb that we had to send as very greasy in general very disappointing and very expensive for what we had not come back Voir le carte

Called for lunch on a day of the week. Very quiet, just another couple eating. The menu was very limited and we were disappointed not to find real beer for sale. It was made up of a barrel beer and staggered to discover later that it was 5, 90 a pint. Food and service was good but the experience in general was disappointing.

I haven't been back in a long time, since I wasn't sure if it was worth coming back, but I heard there was a new manager and I decided to give him a chance. The service was fine, but the food had improved a lot, always had the steak and it was great I hope it continues to improve as you would love to give this place 5 stars again.

Little worried about some of the reviews, but we thought we'd give him a chance. Two of us had fish and fries with chopped and triple peas and one had the ox cheek. We were all very happy with the quality of food, all washed with several Hobgoblin glasses. The dessert was also very good with some unusual combinations. I'm glad I can put this place back on our list. Voir le carte

My husband and I went for an anniversary meal. There's no reception area, so we go into the bar very narrow and we wait. We were finally received? 'by the waiter who, I'm sorry, seemed relieved. They took us to our table in another room. It was just us and another diner in that room. The room only lacked room and was not the lack of guests. The food was excellent but we decided to have a coffee at home. We were disappointed, as we had been waiting for a pleasant evening to celebrate. Sorry, but we're not coming back. (It's funny, but all tables had candles and ours came first. Was that a sign?

I went to this pub with my 11-month-old husband and daughter after I searched Google and I saw it recommended, and there was also a menu for children online. When we arrived at the pub, we were told that there was no children's menu, but we could order a small version of something in the menu. We ordered a cheese sandwich for our baby, brie sandwich and bacon for my husband and chicken cake and mushrooms for me. The chicken cake and mushrooms came with a layer of 3 cm oil at the top and a soaked dough that had sunk to the bottom. I usually don't complain, but the cake wasn't edible, so we tried to find the waitress who gave it back to us. We finally got his attention (only the service waitre...

"rebooked the garden space in the dormy house during the stay near the fish hotel. the environment was very warm and welcoming, and overall eating was very good. but the service was lacking and made us confused by reconciliation. In view of the thoughtful and extensive weinlist we could see one of our favourite mixes from South Africa on the menu. after ordering, and about 15 minutes later, the server back to say there was a mistake, and they put the wrong varietal on the list and wanted to serve us a completely différent wein from this manufacturer. we ordered another bottle in harmony with the food we ordered. but our appetizers came before our wine. wait another 15 minutes (we are now 30 minutes in our dinner without wine) and the waiter comes with another bottle saying that they have lost our bottle, but for us to drink this while we wait. no explanation and not even the wine she poured. that was the last thing we saw from our waiter, because somehow the room was busy and she took the other guests for the rest of the night. we finally got our wee who was brought to the table without the cork. strange practice to get a restaurant of this caliber. when we finished our dessert, we fought for 20 minutes to get every server to recognize us or to delete our records. So we went to the server station to ask for the bill. we have observed our server work at least seven different tabs before we had to go up a second time. when the bill came, the server did not even ask us how our dinner was. we gave our credit card and the other server took it away. she returned 10 minutes later to say that she lost the connection. she gave us the card back and canceled the processing statement and said she couldn't charge our card. she did not know what to do and asked if we were with him at the reception (even if we were not guests of the hotel) will not return."
