"I went to this restaurant with German friends. The restaurant is in central Lubeck up a narrow cobbled street full of exquisite brick merchants' houses. The restaurant is in a house that used to belong to a sweet inventor and merchant. The dining room is...on the ground floor . The washrooms are in the cellar and are a complete surprise because they are stunningly modern. They are spotlessly clean. The main problem was that the menu was in German and Italian but not English. We were fortunate that our friends were able to translate. The staff spoke some English and through charm, goodwill and effort were able to communicate with us. They were all really warm and kind. I had tagliatelle with tomato, green asparagus and pfefferling mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious. My companion had quail with a tomato risotto which he described as absolutely brilliant' . My main course was Dover sole, just plain grilled, with hot beetroot, courgette and spinach. I asked for boiled potato rather than salad. It was all perfectly cooked and again delicious. My companion had saltimbocca which he enjoyed. The sauce was very good. One of our companions had tomato risotto with poached salmon with a crayfish sauce. She said it was excellent. We drank a weissbergunda German white wine which was very good. This was a historically fascinating place, serving excellent food with charming staff. Well worth a visit, but take a German English dictionary if you don't speak German."

Ideal for an upscale romantic evening. It is very quiet; you can talk quietly and listen very well. There is a wide selection of exquisite fish dishes. The waiters are not only friendly and attentive, but also very competent.

Really! 503 km direction, only to dine in this restaurant. There are still restaurants in Germany, whose cuisine is so far worth a good meal. Really rewarding. Culinary art par excellance in the Schabbelhaus. Reserve your table!

Excellent for a fine dining lunch experience, as couple, family, friends or business. Italian inspired kitchen. Noble atmosphere in a former merchant home. Lunch menu. Good and attentive service. Good draft beer, and ok house wine. Not cheap, but fine price value. For shared starter...and main and shared desert, water and a glass of beer or wine, some plus Euro a head. Reserve table. Restrooms impeccably clean.

I have been several times here and I have to assume it’s one of the best Restaurants I know. Good is always great, I recommend yours starter the Antipasti for the main course either the lamb or beef filet steak and dessert should be creme...brullé. Wide range of excellent wines are available. Beside the food the building itself is a class of its own. Very polite, fast and friendly is standard. Prices are for the quality of food and rest more than acceptable. Have fun. Voir le carte

That's what it best describes this place, impeccable. We had the tasting menu for dinner and it was absolutely delicious, a wonderful mixture of Mediterranean and European tradition. Appeticers were really nice, Risotto was delicious and meat dishes were cooked to perfection, to finish with...a delicious and refreshing mixture of panacotta, gelato and red fruit sAlad. That's what I call a suberb dinner. Ten points for the service, very attentive but discreet at the same time. And of course,,,the place has lots of character. A memorable night!

We stumbled across the Schabbelhaus by chance and it turned out to be the gustatory highlight of our month in Northern Germany. We thought it would be expensive, based on the menu outside and the from TripAdvisor, but the lunch menu was entirely reasonable,...and the food was absolutely divine. We had one entree based on roasted vegetables and the other based on veal, with other ingredients and sauces that made us slow down, because we didn't want it to end. On top of that, the setting in an old patrician house was a feast for the eyes. When I think of other restaurants I've given stars to, I'd say this has to be a

"short review: tasty, but small pizza, friendly service – and yet the evening did not run round! 3 stars with a lot of potential. it is Friday evening, best meal shortly after 19.30 clock, when we are in the la casa, an Italian restaurant in an old villa. sitting on only one of the 8 tables and as no service is to be seen, we sit on a table for two people and wait. and wait. time for a look in detail: slobby lighting, terracotta-colored walls, matching table runners, small tealights with flickering light on the tables, paintings (landscapes, still life, flowers near the walls, which are provided with price tags and offered for sale. then finally a very nice service appears that menus that have a lot to offer: antipasti, fish and meat, pizza and pasta, salad, desserts. the text is not as good as it can be seen, as first the lighting is weak and secondly the individual pages are stuck in labye clear envelopes, which unfortunately are all but clear. a decision is made quickly. I choose my body and magenta food, vegetarian pizza (9,50 € – here called pizza verdura – and in small pils (0,3 l to 2,70 €) and wait. in the meantime 40 minutes have passed since the pizza order, my dear hangs in the knees, I am impatient, the clock shows 20.30 and we are hungry! the guests who have appeared after us are now almost ready to eat while we are still waiting. how heart lut wants to stand up after need, the service appears, apologises with many beautiful words, they have overlooked the order form. After another 10 minutes we finally get our food. the pizza is a little small, but it is filled with fresh vegetables (brukkoli, paprika, wobbles, mushrooms, tomato). the floor is rough, there is nothing to complain. Finally we order espresso, very strong, very good at 2,50 € per piece. an eject of the order should certainly not happen, but can happen once. but if such a thing happens, it would be appropriate for me to offer an espresso or a grappa as a small repair, simply as a sign of apology, good will and generousness, especially because it was a time-intensive delay. the pizzas, although small, tasted good, the service was friendly, but that when entering the permanently empty restaurants went well for 5 minutes until an operation appeared on the picture surface, we felt as disturbing as the long wait for eating and then talking kinky. 3 stars, with ach and crow, more did not come together during this visit."
