"Luckily, Lübeck's old town is by no means poor at individual, perhaps even family-run cafes, which are not only branches of one of the dominant bakery chains, but also provide a much more personalized hospitality with their uniqueness and charm. I have already reported about a few, and in this collection, the Cafe Hansehof cannot be missed. The cafe is hidden in an inner courtyard that can be reached via the Wahmstraße. This location alone makes the cafe a secret tip for locals who long for a quiet time away from the crowds of tourists in the warm seasons, which of course come to the more exposed cafes. In addition to many seating in the inner courtyard, the interior located on two floors also delights the guest with a very lovingly designed interior, which has a lively and unique effect mainly due to many antique furnishings. This impression is also reflected in the mind of the operator pair. At lunch in May 2017, when I visited the Cafe Hansehof, the house owner Petra Roos took care of the service. The familial hospitality that she radiated on it immediately leads to a feeling of warm welcome that illuminates the mood and makes the stay all the more pleasant. In a nice conversation, I also learned that by 2015 she had already run a restaurant called Remise just a few houses away. After the termination of the lease, she (luckily for us Lübecker) remained the queen of the Hanse and has now found a new permanent place for her gastronomic heart project. In addition to cakes, breakfast arrangements and sandwiches, it is mainly an offer of many different hearty and sweet pancake dishes, which the Cafe Hansehof has written on the flags and has also become its flagship in Lübecker Gastronomy. These dishes also made me aware of the restaurant and should of course also be my food of choice. In the high north it certainly does not seem unusual that I chose a pancake creation with reference to the sea: a salmon pancake filled with smoked salmon, sour cream, fine apple slices, rag onions and some cream merrettich. (Please click on the picture to see it in the whole. I apologise for the not exactly good quality) salmon pancakes, filled with smoked salmon, sour cream, fine apple slices, rag onions and some cream horseradish. It was already noticed at the first touch that there was really thought about the composition and the court and this was prepared with just as much heart blood. The pancake dough was not too thick or too thin and made the filling tasteful space. There was no ingredient in this, but everything complemented each other in a very good relationship. The smoke aroma of the salmon, the light sweetness and acidity of the apple slices, the slight sharpness of the horseradish, the freshness of the Sour Cream and finally the bite through the onions. Only a small pinch of salt and maybe a few additional (maybe Dill suitable for salmon) would in my opinion be missing for a completely perfect composition. Even at the end of my visit, Fr. Roos concluded this with her great cordiality. After an interesting conversation about the pancake creation and their idea of specializing in such pancake dishes with the cafe, she actually didn't want to accept my tip because I was such a nice, friendly guest for you. Of course, I insisted on wanting to reward them for this great time in their cafe, but nevertheless: How often do you find such a hospitality nowadays? I just wish the Cafe Hansehof all the best and continued stability and success. I strongly recommend that everyone be convinced of the hospitality and the quality of food they have lived here. The cafe definitely deserves to be more than just a secret tip in the Lübecker Gastronomy ."

Aan een soort hofje is dit cafe gevestigd. We genoten van een heerlijke soep en sandwich. Vriendelijke bediening.

The beautiful, quiet courtyard invites you to stay and when the delicious cake plus cappuccino is served... wonderful! We're coming back.

We discovered this little cafe inside one of the "mews" in downtown Lübeck. It's on the second floor, with a wonderful view of some old Lübeck houses and their tile roofs, and little collections of teapots in each window. The kuchen selection is all homemade, and excellent, and the soup is fabulous -- we had the kohlrabi soup today, and I think it's one of the best soups I've ever had. I had a pear tart for dessert. Great coffees and teas, too, and probably other selections but we focused on the soup and kuchen today. The owners are very friendly, and the wife is especially warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for a light lunch or a kuchen break in the afternoon. We went back 3 times!

Beautiful, cozy café with delicious cakes and good coffee. There are small snacks and pancakes. Totally sympathetic owners, soil and family. The courtyard is a historic, special building. Hidden cafe that gives tranquility and a beautiful ambience in the current summer and tourist season. Very sweet. I sat outside and a rainy appearance didn't make me feel good. Half a star draws for the only toilet for males and females and half a Sterm, I prefer that the 'reserved' shields on each table, probably due to the Corona time, some and also almost me, feared so that people went back. Next to the house sale should carry in the next. The premises can be rented for smaller celebrations and events.

Mani In Pasta

Mani In Pasta

"Directly in the times of the Corona crisis, the “Mani in Pasta” with a new opening in the St. Jürgen district initially tried, of course, only as a take-away with an extension of the local gastro offer to an authentic Italian cuisine. This attempt has not yet been successful, but it has also been possible to save yourself by the deep Corona winter 20/21 and also expand its offer with a delivery service. So for me it was high time to make myself an image of the quality offered here. Look at the counter. Interior with a small seat. In the rooms of the Mani in Pasta, there have often been the owner of changing bakeries. Accordingly, the room design and the space offer are also significantly limited compared to a classic restaurant. The counter remained of course and today serves primarily as a cashier or Pick-up station for the Take Away business. At the same time, however, it has also been decided to completely dedicate the remaining interior to the above mentioned delivery service business and thus make it a separate “pizza factory” so that the gastronomic area is completely limited to the outside seat. Outside view. With the stones designed in the colours of the Italian flag, I find it definitely good to distinguish them from the rest of the sidewalk. It gives guests a little more rest from the normal passer-by stream and at the same time truly serves as a eye-catcher. This in winter should not be possible on site or only for the really hard-boiled, which also does not deter winter temperatures shows that the take-away and the delivery service could well build up a good foothold, that already in the Corona-Lockdown proved so well that one makes it the main concept. On the day of my visit, this great March weather would definitely have been enough for the outdoors. Nevertheless, I was able to stay on a small wall table with bar stools for my short arrival this early evening in the warmer inner area, which was completely enough for me. 3 employees were on site at this time. I ordered directly at the Tresen, where an older lady welcomed me in German. She also took over the communication with the two, apparently, owners who were full blood Italians. The warm season is also served in the square on the open-air seat, but as mentioned this time I was not necessary. Despite a noticeably tight pace and ordering in the delivery service and take-away, the lady mentioned acted organized and gave me their attention. In the further course, she was also interested in small talk with her colleagues. The team secured a very big advantage through its openness and spontaneity, which it met with regard to my special desire to change a food, which I will explain in more detail below. An Italian-emotional hospitality that was not a uniform show, but just honest. The menu is divided in the Mani in Pasta as follows. The focus here is actually less on what we would understand as a pasta, but on what can be made of the literal translation of this word dough in the oven. A huge selection of pizza, pinsa, foccacia, freselle or also puccia will satisfy every friend of this kind of Italian dishes his favorite desire. Nevertheless, the main dishes can also be used to choose pasta dishes and lasagna versions. Despite this very clear core competence, I chose a dish from the field of appetizers, which, in addition to typical anti-pasti, also contains salads. I was very pleased that I was given an extra wish for the Insalata di Tacchino, a great service that I had already mentioned in the section on the previous one. Originally, this salad variant consists of leaf salads, red onions, tomatoes and olives in a honey-senf dressing from the so frequently encountered but equally painless turkey strips. However, if I have been with the “authentic” Italian, I would like to taste something special from the cuisine of this country. The South Tyrolean bacon, which came as a covering for some dough dishes, is my greatest interest. And in fact, the team liked to fulfill this individual idea and thus prepared the salad as “Insalata di Speck Alto Adige” in the small portion for € 6.4 as follows. Despite the above-mentioned, unfortunate delivery business for the early evening, I didn't have to wait 10 minutes. “Insalata di Tacchino”: from mixed leaf salads, red onions, tomatoes, on my request South Tyrolean bacon instead of turkey strips and olives in a honey-senf dressing; small portion. Suitable for mixing in a small bowl lay on a bed of crisp iceberg salad cuts of radicchio, carrots, cucumber and tomatoes. In between, the annon-clad olives found space as well as red onion pieces and ruccola. The honey-senf dressing was already draped in a suitable amount, so that the true crowning in the form of 5 slices of the South Tyrolean Speck could be the crowning completely undisturbed. And he was tasteful for me too. This unique, salty Umami put the hoped kick on the already good base of the salad. Its components were all fresh and crisp and prepared so cheerful “nabber fun”. The honey-senf dressing was also positively attentive to itself. It was built on a creamy, yogurt-like basis, leaving an acid but not missing. Aromatic mustard, also visible as coarse grains, was clearly noticeable and brought into good balance with honey sweets. Truly a dressing that raises the salad and yet so discreet that the highlight of the South Tyrolean bacon has never been displaced for me. A few thin slices of Foccacia showed a great pore and thus fluffiness. They would have accompanied the salad perfectly if they had been a bit warm. But that was anyway an addition that I didn't expect and did no break at all to the great overall impression of this little appetizer. Their order has been fully rewarded for me, as you will notice. The 6,4€, which, despite the change to the original variant, remained the same with turkey in the South Tyrolean bacon, I liked to increase with tips. The “Mani in Pasta” left a positive impression at this truly short and small premiere. The kindness and great openness secure a high score for me at the service. The ambience in the mentioned minimal interior area is of course barely valueable, but nevertheless came over worth and the design of the exterior seat is also refreshingly different. Finally, this little salad appetizer of the short visit already filled me with all that I had hoped for. A fresh base with aromatic dressing wore my desired product highlight of the South Tyrolean Speck simply super and justified its price. I don't think it's wrong that Italian new openings usually don't give me an equal chance, but it's too often the case that you meet a "handling kitchen" that is purely for the purpose of winning. However, the “Mani in Pasta” makes a pleasant difference with its offer and has now also witnessed the first personal tryout for me that it actually represents an enrichment of the local culinary selection."

"at noon, weekdays, shortly after 12 in the china restaurant phönix: the people give themselves the clinke in the hand, the purest almauftrieb, big hallo, how we do, the same we always, today something else, school knocks, you know ... the phönix is something like a villagekneipe in the earlier sinne, just a china restaurant. the ambiente is in the big and whole as you know from chinarestaurants, with lampions and pictures with Asian motives, the rest is that of an old German living room with franses at the raffgardinen, a bit tight everything, pot flowers on the window benches and tablecloths in old pink/white. the female Asian service is “professional friendly”, flink, however a smile is probably luxurious and not included in the inexpensive lunch table, at least she has no over for us. during our stay in the restaurant, I noticed that ancestral guests are happyly smiling and served with nice words, as well as the elderly who sits alone on the table next to us, we will be treated as “new guests” with less friendly, so to speak “smiling”. a little more openness to new guests could not harm and would convey the feeling of being welcome as (yet) non-square guests – and this could in turn facilitate new guests' decision for a possible ancestral customer. the menu preist to the lunch table various dishes, all for 5,90 euro inclusive suppe or early roll, depending on the choice. 5,90 Euro... I am skeptical... can you conjure a good lunch? one can! the portions are large, the sweet (tubes, red and green paprika, bambus, wobbles, champignons) plus ananas is rich, versatile and crunchy fresh. my skinny tastes as delicious as the suppe; we are very satisfied and pappsatt when we leave the restaurant. a good restaurant, nothing spectacular but what is offered for 5,90 euro is great! Conclusion: ambiente 3 stars, operation 4 stars, eating and value for 5 stars"
