"Marae Kaffee offers great espresso beverages and light fare in a cozy and bright environment. For those who do not speak German, the whole staff speaks English very well and are happy to accommodate. The menu offers espresso drinks (with many different non-dairy options for...those who prefer), salads, and a selection of homemade pastries that are beautifully decorated. On Saturday mornings they also serve breakfast. You won’t want to miss visiting for brunch on the first Saturday of every month, as Jay and his wife prepare a unique selection of foods themed from different cultures. Sometimes lost in the third-wave-coffee world is a sense of welcoming and acceptance by those owners and baristas that pridefully cultivate the art of coffee culture. Jay, his wife, and his team at Marae are very welcoming and eager to make every guest feel at home and wanted as a patron. Delicious food (all organic) and raw cakes (only sweetened with dates cozy atmosphere, lovely and open minded owners, good variety of baverages e.g. superfood smoothies, tumeric latte ... Definetly the most outstanding place to visit in Lübeck! We'll definetly come back.

I was yesterday with a friend and pleasantly surprised that all the cakes there are vegan and gluten-free. that was the only caffe that we found to meet our needs. the cakes were beautiful, the coffee was good and it is in the regular one. cute place to be with friendly staff.

Fantastic place, great food and drink. All vegan but plenty of comfort food and deserts on the menu. Lovely drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. It's a little hidden gem, most tourists don't know where to find. It's still in the old town though. They have a great variety of sweets (tried the lemon casshew cheese cake' which was YUM! Better than an original cheese cake I would say). The...owners (a couple) are really friendly, up for a talk, very helpful. They have some savory dishes also. Highly recommended for coffee or tea at 4o'clock, but also for a healthy lunch

we discovered this caffe by chance during the walk through the old city. it is from the beaten away, but is a nice relaxing place to stop for coffee and cake. besides a nice selection of delicious cakes they also serve light vegetarian lunches and they can also get a beer here. friendly service staff and a very relaxing environment. the toilets are marked in German language either wizard or magic. make sure they know what hexe is!
