"This charming, unpretentious bistro by the river is a delightful find. The decor creates a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including smoked salmon, fish and chips, scallops, and scampi linguini, as well as a filet of salmon with crispy skin served on a bed of mussel and pea risotto. Our group of four unanimously agreed that it was the best meal we had during our visit to the UK. The total bill, which included two glasses of wine, was £106. I highly recommend this place!"

We had an amazing meal at McBain's. Both the sea bass and salmon were cooked to perfection. This was the best dinner we enjoyed during our two-week trip.

The food was excellent, although the service was a bit slow. If you manage to get a table near the windows, you'll enjoy a beautiful view. I would definitely return!

McBain's is the perfect spot for an amazing meal that is both fresh and locally sourced. The food is outstanding, and the staff is incredibly friendly! I strongly recommend trying the venison. Just make sure to make a reservation, as the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and tends to fill up quickly.

We made an unplanned stop for a late lunch, and it exceeded our expectations! The staff were consistently friendly and professional, always attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced. We visited during the phase 2 'circuit-breaker' of COVID-19, so we weren't able to sample their wine selection; however, their mocktails were fantastic! Six very satisfied diners—we will definitely be back!
