"a first visit on Saturday at high-time. although my wife was before, and very recommended the place. eating was excellent, one of the best chicken bobabs I have ever tasted, the staff was helpful and attentive, although they were cleaned away from the feet. few problems but stood on our table waiting with sosse of the cooks who throw the food around while it was prepared. at the table I was probably at the seat, next to a service door at the back of the restaurant. I was quite hard on the back by someone with heavy wood servier plates. then shower with sparkling, as she laughs with birthday cake with fireworks. then, finally, there was a collision between two workers to fly bowls of dirty dressing, which shot among our men and sprayed us with a lot of sauces and liquids. will I come back? I bet I'd risk eating under life gunfire to try the kebabs and brot again."

"Were meeting our daughter off the ferry on her birthday and decided to take her out for breakfast for a birthday treat. Checked trip advisor for reviews and this place looked great. I can only assume that the reviews have all been written by friends of the manager.After all the good reviews we 'd read, we were disappointed with the breakfast. AFTER we 'd ordered we were told there was no mushrooms and we 'd be given an extra instead, which turned out to be disappointing tinned tomatoes. Those that had the full breakfast were given one fried egg, whilst those on the light option were given two, which was clearly the wrong way round. The toilets were disgusting; the worst I have seen anywhere in many a year. As I was paying I was asked if everything was ok, and when I said about each of the above, she just said 'yes ' as if to say 'I know, but that 's the way it is ', no such thing as an apology."

"We hadn't visited this restaurant in a couple of years and had good memories of it being a special place (we had brought guests here as it was at the top of our list of local restaurants), but our recent experience this week was disappointing. The staff member who greeted us at the door seemed disinterested in being at work, showing no signs of friendliness or engaging in any conversation throughout the evening, including when we paid the bill. First impressions are important. Unfortunately, the food was also lacking. Although the menu descriptions were intriguing with a variety of options, none of our appetizers or main dishes stood out - where were the promised flavors? Bruschetta without garlic or basil? Overall, the food was just "okay" but not worth the price. It seemed like cheap ingredients were used and corners were cut to save money. The restaurant still has a nice ambiance and I'm sure it's lively on weekends, but this historic place deserves better. We will be exploring other dining options in the future. It's a shame, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly special."

"Average bar service, unfortunately, my rare beef salad was so overpowered by the pickled cabbage, I couldn't taste the salsa verde, even the chilli, I wouldn't have to write this review, but when I explained this to the lady serving us, she said it's a personal preference that's that. I would think on a customer service level she would at least say thanks for your feedback and I will let the chef know. would have been polite and I was listened to, for the critique of my dining experience. I don't think the staff care to much about what comes out on service and are more interested in chatting to the boys at the bar, my table was from around 3 pm to 5 pm on Saturday 4th Feb 23, I don't think I will be returning. The runner buss boy was very good and he listened more than the girl staff chatting at the bar."

"£25 For 1 fry up breakfast, 1 poached egg on toast and 2 pots of tea is rather excessive, the fry up breakfast consisted of 1 sausage, 1 bacon rasher, 1 egg, 1 black pudding, mushrooms, a small pot of beans, 1 slice of toast. Not enough milk given for 2 pots of tea had to ask for more. The staff were welcoming enough although did get asked a few times if everything was OK. Won't be going back at those prices."
