"Went to the kings head with my wife and and son the meals were far to big , and to exspencive, my wife was recommended by the bar staff to have steak in ale pie , it was burnt and dry . Me and my son had fish and chips far to large, keep your prices down, give smaller portions, we were asked if we wanted a sweet, not enough room, i noticed people were having one drink with there meal and leaving, as we did drinks and food are ridiculously exspensive, keep your prices reasonable people would drink more.i will never come to your pub again and i come regular to the auto jumble i would never recommend you."

In fairness they knocked a bit off my bill but they forgot my dessert order. Service not the best

Great pub! Lovely staff who managed to squeeze us in on a busy bank holiday. Great white bait and a big portion of nachos too. Best pub down by the harbour

Stunning character pub with a great location and atmosphere. A very cosy feel to it and is definitely somewhere we will continue to go on our trips to Lymington.

Certainly not planning on eating here today, but found the staff friendly and a good menu. Timothy Taylor on tap, nice meal served in good time and good old fashioned banter with staff, we will be back.

Great, as always. Delicious well prepared, well presented food. 10 mins wait for staff at bar not table none at the bar at all, just staff smoking in the yard. Which is fair enough but there should be cover.

Great vegan fish and chips which was made with Haloumi, the chips were very good, the mushy peas were very flavoursome and the tartar sauce was unbelievable. Probably one of the best mock fish and chips i have ever had

The area was meant to be median rare but was very undercooked and not a particularly nice cut of meet . I left 90 percent of it on my plate and no one even asked if everything was ok or if we had enjoyed our food left feeling very disappointed

Somehow managed to miss this place on my previous visits but won't do again. A very attractive interior, friendly staff and good range of well kept beer. The loaded nachos were simply superb! Great value too. I will come here whenever in Lymington.

Lovely old pub with loads of character. The food was delicious. My only disappointment was that I had said when booking that we were a visually impaired group, but we were given no help finding our table or carrying drinks, which is tricky when you have a white stick in one hand, as as it's an old pub, there were steps up and down to negotiate. As soon as we'd paid for our food and drinks, the drinks were put on the bar, and the barmaid tuned out to assistance requests. Granted, it was busy, but it felt like we weren't genuinely welcome.

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
