"My husband and I had made a reservation for Sunday dinner, but had to cancel because the latest time they could book us was 4:30pm. As a diabetic, I needed to eat closer to 6:00pm. Despite this, we received a friendly greeting over the phone and decided to give the place a try while we were in the area for five days. We only wish we had visited more than once. This is a family-run business with two welcoming ladies at the front of the house. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Covid precautions were well in place, with sufficient spacing to make us feel safe. We both opted for the lasagne, chips, and peas special for £5. When we asked about how they manage to offer such a good deal, we learned that all the produce is locally sourced and homemade, with even grandma helping out in the kitchen. The food was delicious, with generous portions and a variety of flavors including garlic, oregano, turmeric, fennel, and marjoram. The homemade bechamel sauce was rich and creamy, topped with a good cheese. The hand-cut chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with petit pois on the side. We hope to return to the area so we can dine here again. Highly recommended."

"During our staycation at a nearby hotel, we decided to dine at this restaurant for the first time in over a year, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was all freshly cooked and piping hot. The staff and owner were very welcoming. We ordered a variety of dishes such as Cheesy garlic mushrooms, Steak and ale pie with chips, Curried chicken with rice and chips, Kids chicken nuggets with chips, Kids lasagna with chips, and Chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. The ice cream was exceptionally creamy and delicious. Despite not taking any photos due to being too engrossed in the meal, we thoroughly enjoyed the old-fashioned pub ambience and would definitely recommend it. The food arrived promptly and was all incredibly tasty."

"We were a party of 10, we decided on a carvery after friends had a great experience themselves. My wife had recently celebrated her 40th birthday, and the meal was to get some of her family together. We rang and booked the table in the week with us being a large party to make sure we could all be sat together. We all decided on the carvery and was told when we could all go up to collect it. The carvery area is a little cramped, but I imagine most parties are table of four where this wouldn’t be an issue, but ten of us queued up meant we had to queue up the corridor. This in itself wasn’t a problem, it just meant to was a little cramped when being served. The food was amazing. Most of us opted for the large plate, two younger ones had the regular plate. We all had plenty of meat. The options were Beef, Turkey and Pork. All were very tasty. Roast potatoes were great. Two choices of stuffing balls, one with cranberry and a meaty version. Again, very nice. Being a veg dodger I didn’t partake, but those that did said it was great, as were the Yorkshire puddings. The staff were very friendly and polite. It had been years since I have been in, but due to our friend recommendation and our recent visit, we will be back again as a family of four in the future. Thank you."

"It may sound petty but I left your shop feeling as though I'd been ripped off! I purchased two sausage rolls clearly marked as a takeaway price of £0.70 each. I asked for them to be heated and was charged £1.00 each. I was informed that it was because they have to charge VAT if it's been heated. I disputed this, but when checking they were absolutely correct. I no longer felt cheated, that is until I thought about it, then felt that I'd indeed been cheated after all. I would appreciate them explaining how, something sold for 70 pence can accrue a charge of 30 pence VAT. Especially as the government has introduced a reduced subsidised VAT due to covid. This £0.30 is well over the top, even at standard VAT rates and should not have been charged. Further more, if you are going to put extra on your heated takeaway food then put a notice up to that effect. In short, what I expected to pay was 2 x £0.70 £1.40 but ended up paying £2.00. As I said, I won't be going back and am sure you won't miss my £2.00."

"Used this restaurant takeaway consistently for the last 15 (before lockdown) but tonight...the absolute worst meal we have had in Asian cuisine. This place used to be the best curry house by far! Tonight we thought we would try again, after not going for a while. The Tarka Dhal was basically water and onions, I couldn 't even find a lentil! The portion didn 't even come half way up the foil dish. The naans were thick, doughy and undercooked inside. Both main dishes were very poor quality again with only half way up the foil dish. The garlic Masala used to be so tasty made with roast garlic and topped with coriander and flaked almonds. It was just a standard sauce and looked exactly the same as my partners specialty Rezalla. Absolutely tasteless to add insult, 2 main, 1 rice, 2 naan, 1 side dish £45!! Rang up to complain and was told to speak to the colleague and was cut off!
