"Came here for a family birthday and unfortunately it was really disappointing. The lady behind the bar was probably the best thing about the experience. She was really nice and had good waitress skills. We ordered steak pie (it was soo salty and the gravy was solid the pastry on the pie was rock hard and looked quite old) 3/10 vegetable curry (raw peppers/ onions and mushrooms really spicy and awful) 1/10 luckily sent it back and replaced with scampi. steak burger (my son said it was really chewy quite tasteless chips were also not crispy but weirdly overcooked) 5/10 light cod bites (best of a bad lot really same overcooked tasteless chips) 7/10 The bill came to £70 including some drinks. Atmosphere in the bar was none existent apart from another couple sending their food back. All in all very disappointed for a special birthday meal and won’t be returning."

Lovely lunch with great service and excellent choice of drinks. Love that we can take our dog in one part of the bar. Everywhere was extremely clean.

Never again. Not what it used to be. The food was not good and the beer very expensive. The atmosphere was not good and young lady who served us did not seem to know too much about the place.

We ate at the Harvey Arms on a recommendation from a local person. There was a good choice of meals and they were well cooked and nicely presented. The pub has a friendly and warm atmosphere and the staff were very helpful.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here with family. However was really disappointed to discover that there is no disabled access. We struggled to gey up the 2 steps with a person using a wheelchair. I was told that the brewery would not allow them to... Voir le carte

Having waited for some time now to sample this experience, mainly restricted by lockdown and related matters, we decided to give it a go and it was well worth the wait. Fresh, plentiful, and very tasty with a very friendly warm reception when ordering and collecting. Thanks again, compliments to the Chef and see you again soon, cheers!

This is the first time we have ventured out as a family since COVID. Absolutely disgusting! No social distancing we were sat in a table in the middle of the room (like our own island) with people walking all around is. Food nothing to write home about even with “The Eat Out Gov contribution” (may need to confirm correct practices are being adhered too) Asked to speak to manager “Oh, what a shame!” How does this help?! Didn’t want to speak to me and hid behind her staff some of which were, ignorant and unless, not all. Don’t waste your time and money . Only one member of staff wore PPE the whole time we were there the pleasant, bar staff lady. Incorrect order for drinks, it looks like a new l...

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
