"We have eaten in Grace Neill many times the food has always been very good and we enjoy the live music. Tonight we booked a table for 4 in the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed lovely starters and main courses. The problem arose when we realised that the table was flooded with water, my husband’s trousers were soaking and my dress could have been rung out. We drew this to the attention of the waitress who went and got the manageress. We suggested that the ice bucket was leaking. The manageress said this was unlikely, held it up in the air and then admitted that it was in deed leaking. She offered me some ‘blue towels’ to dry my dress off and when I declined she offered to take me ‘into the disabled toilet’, which I found rather bizarre and also declined. When the bill came £191) no gesture had been made to compensate for soaking our attire. I took the bill to the girls at the till and asked them to have another look at it, in light of our soaking clothes. The manageress returned to the table, with a new bill, having deducted an amount by way of compensation, for which we were grateful, but then she proceeded to comment that I had been rude to staff. Ironically, we found this comment rather rude in itself and also totally unnecessary. Having admitted that our dining experience was not perhaps 100%, it was rather counter productive to then claim we had been rude. It also further exacerbated our dissatisfaction. A disappointing end to what should have been another lovely meal in our local pub. Perhaps some management training in customer service would be useful."

"my wife and I were happy enough to eat here twice during our short stay with great friends in donaghadee. both paintings were for the wonderful eating, beautiful old world ambiente and really welcome and hospitality very unforgettable. Maybe it helps if their friends appear to be a familiar one in their local but each member of the staff went out of the way to take care of us and feel at home. Among the recommended dressings are the chilli salt and pepper squid, chicken stack, bang chicken, seafood chowder, rump steak, burger menu and chicken, chorizo pasta bake."

"Well once again everyone in Lighthouse bar and Grill never fail to deliver,it was absolutely incredible. My daughter and I had cod moray it was cooked to perfection. I couldn’t thank Jamie and chef and all the staff enough. We will be back this week again and Boxing day when a lot of my family are also goin. The steaks and Featherblade of beef is also delicious. Thanks again guys. WODERFUL"

"Just popped in for a quick unplanned lunch. We got offered a number of places to sit and chose the bar area, with a nice fire blazing. We both choose from the the specials menu. I had the flat bread and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. I raised an eye brow when the flat bread arrived. It was simply a piece of supermarket pitta, uncooked. On top of it we a few dices of overcooked pork, some pickles and a drizzle of sauce. I was affronted that this dish was £12 for an ingredient cost of less than a £1. I understand that restaurants are having a difficult time, but that goes both ways. If you are going to charge excessively, make sure the culinary experience matches. My wife 's pulled pork was on ciabatta, but the pork was excessively 'wet ', not because of the sauce, but simply the water content. As a result the bread was a soggy mess. On a positive note, the chips served with the pork were excellent. We finished our food in muted silence, I paid the £32 bill, but mentioned to the barman my concerns. He said he was sorry to hear that, and would pass my concerns to the chief ... Sadly, with money becoming tighter, we will think carefully on where we dine again. So disappointed, in what is a great venue,"

"Visited on Saturday when the Ulster Scots event was on so it was busy. This is my first time back since its reopening. As before, go forward to the till to order past people waiting for their order) but be wary of the pricing. I thought I read on the board as did my friend) a can of pop was £1.00 but checking my bill afterwards outside, it turns out they are £1.70 each. A 8oz Hawaiian burger £7.95) was described by my friend as tasty but alas no extra chips were included as you would normally expect. I had the sausage supper which had 2 sausages, very tasty £6.40). The amount of chips where enough for one certainly and I did share as my friend was in need lol. If you have a large appetite, you will have to order accordingly, in my opinion. Probably a sign of the times, re portion sizes. No-one asked about ketchup napkins weren't provided/seen; plastic forks are on the counter and salt/vinegar were enquired about before wrapping. N.B. They don't sell ice-cream now!"
