"This was our first visit to The Miners Arms, and it certainly won't be our last. The place is impeccably clean from top to bottom. The landlady and staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I ordered the hunters chicken, while my husband had the ham, egg, and chips. Both meals were delicious and came with a delightful side salad. Thank you, Miners Arms, for a wonderful meal and warm hospitality. You definitely deserve a glowing 5-star review from me. We'll surely be back! The price per person was around £30–40."

"Not a great experience for my birthday unfortunately as I've heard good things about the food here. It started with complimentary appetiser roll with butter which was what it was but ok. Then followed by belly pork with honey with a little salad on top which was ok but forgettable. Mains was fillet of beef on a mushroom sauce which was ok except the beef was cooked very rare for medium rare and tasteless. My mother had battered haddock which was wet ,soggy on the underside of the batter and the chips were pale also a small bowl of veg which was slightly overcooked as the cabbage was soggy in the serving bowl hardly enough to share between two meals either. The young waitress was very good. Atmosphere didn't make me feel very relaxed and didnt stay for dessert. I came with some site workers two years before and they enjoyed it as there was a choice of a steak, curry as I think a steak is a staple in any restaurant. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2"

"So this is our local Indian, we have had several take aways and been here as a couple with no issues and can 't fault the food. However go with more than 2 people and expect a ridiculous wait. from 6.05 to 7.45 we had poppadoms and the table next to us that were just a couple were waiting 45 mins and only had poppadoms. In the end I had no choice but to ask for the food to be in takeaway boxes. When recieved I went up to pay and my mum got told 'this is the 2nd time you have done this, we would rather give your table to someone else and the restaurant has been here longer than you and will be here a lot longer ' we said 1.5 hours for poppadoms was ridiculous and the manager argued loudly across the restaurant that it was only an hour and didn 't apologise at all. The couple next to us was horrified and said we should refuse to pay for the way we were spoken to, we didn 't do this but we left feeling very angry and upset with how we were spoken to and wouldn 't want to subject anyone to this service. Takeaway only unless you have 3 hours to spare."

"We stopped at this restaurant on our way back from a day out at the Forest of Dean a few weeks ago. We hadn't made a reservation, but since we arrived early, they were able to seat us in the restaurant area (the few tables in the small bar were already taken). The lady behind the bar, who seemed to be the landlady, was helpful but not overly friendly. The menu consisted of standard pub fare at average prices. The lasagna was interesting, as it seemed to have a layer of pesto under the cheese topping, which gave it a unique taste that may not appeal to everyone. They didn't have homemade garlic bread, just frozen pre-cut baguette slices that you could buy for £1 in the shop. However, the chips were very good. The pub itself was quite old, with charming exposed wood beams, but the decor seemed to be a bit mismatched and didn't quite fit the traditional pub atmosphere. Overall, the meal was decent but didn't exceed our expectations considering the prices. It was a case of "you get what you pay for." We probably wouldn't visit again."

"Thank you to Moyra and her team for fitting the 5 of us in at very short notice. The 2 roast meals were excellent value for money and arrived absolutely piping hot. Both the beef and pork were succulent and portion sizes were plentiful. Both the scampi and cod and chips were well cooked and beautiful crispy outside/ soft inside … just as we like them! The final ham sandwich plate was just as good as the rest. The dessert of bread and butter pudding with custard certainly silenced the table ….. very very delicious!! The garden is beautifully kept and even the sun shone for us so yes, I would recommend this place if in the area."
