The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The tables were clean and well-organized, and the dishes arrived at the table steaming hot. Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet atmosphere, excellent value.

The place is clean, the staff excellent and the food delicious. The rooms are OK however, the mattress in our room was, putting it mildly, knackered. Come on Gilvenbank Chang those mattresses. Rooms: 2 Service: 5 Location: 4

Had my wedding reception here, couldn't fault them in anyway, staff so pleasant and helpful nothing to much for them. Liam and Stuart were fantastic from start to finish with all arrangements , fantastic venue for any occasion, definitely recommend. Service: 5 Location: 5

The rooms were clean and pleasant, although hairdryers weren't provided despite the website indicating they would be available. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and approachable. They were very accommodating, and the breakfast was outstanding; the staff were helpful and went above and beyond to assist. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to return. Rooms: 4

The food was tasty, and the bar provided a nice atmosphere. However, the hotel rooms were disappointing; the bathrooms required a thorough cleaning, as there was quite a bit of black mold around the bath and shower. Additionally, having just two old coat hangers in a double room was inadequate, and the duvet hardly covered the mattress, resulting in an uncomfortable night's sleep. Breakfast options were somewhat limited, with no fruit, yogurt, or porridge available—although it was difficult to tell since there were no menus provided. On a positive note, most of the staff were friendly.

Stayed at the Gilvenbank this weekend as we were attending a wedding at Balbarnie House. The hotel is lovely but the rooms were very basic. The pillows were paper thin, the curtains were so thin the light shone through and the bathroom was dangerous. I stood in the bath to have a shower and within seconds was on the floor of it as the non slip stuff on the bottom of the bath was non existent and clearly hadnt been cleaned properly. I ended up attending the wedding with a huge bruise on my arm and limping as I 've got a huge black bruise on my bottom and leg.
