"This used to be our go to pub for Sunday roast however having taken my family there today we won’t be coming back until things improve. Roast dinner for 4 adults 2 x pork and 2 x beef Roast potatoes were brown to black and were soft like they had been microwaved with little to no taste. Gravy tasted like bistro gravy granules with no stock or flavour from the meet added. Gravy poured over your roast potatoes doesn’t hide the fact that they were burnt Vegetables had been boiled so much they tasted of nothing. Finally the beef and pork clearly had been over cooked and not seasoned at all . The table comment was this was like an old school dinner bland, no love and disappointing. When paying I informed the staff of the issue with the meal and just got a sheepish look but still had to pay the full amount. No management interest to resolve my comment. Finally on leaving the restaurant the staff behind the bar gave us us what I can only describe as a dirty look for daring to comment on their food. Disappointed that what was a great pub has now let their standards drop so much for what seems to be a focus on profit and not high quality food and service. As they say customers vote with their feet which was evident with the lack of people in the restaurant. Come on guys please get this sorted"

I wanted to have lunch with friends while in the area, and the menu was very accommodating to our preferences. I chose the crispy chicken wings and loaded fries, and I was not disappointed. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in until we left. We felt very welcomed, and the restaurant had a nice, warm atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. Voir le carte

Today we visited The Fox and Hounds Riseley for afternoon tea. What an amazing experience. For only £15.95 per person there was so much variety. Assorted sandwiches, bacon and cheese turn over, beef teriyaki salad and coronation chicken salad and a large selection of cakes. Well worth the money. The service was spectacular, we will definitely be back. Thank you everyone

You can have a tab if you are sitting inside but not if you sit in the garden Not a great introduction but as it was a hot, sunny day, we went to sit outside and paid as we went along. Beer was good but at £4.60 a pint, over priced. The burgers were good and came quite quickly, both with chips and salad. If they didn 't trust us it wouldn 't have been a problem to keep a close eye on us as we were the only people in the pub except for the staff.

The pub is an old favourite, but seems that with every change of Tennant the food gets worse. The menu is extremely large which is a warning flag for freezer and microwave but for pub grub that can sometimes be made acceptable. Whilst the fish and chips were ok, the burger was dry, tastless, compressed like cardboard and inedible. I'd love to hope the food will improve, like some who are finding their feet, but this is an addition to another pub with the same menu and there's a fundamental problem with the formula. Its not cheap either. Other than that, there is a good selection of beer from Brewpoint and the service was good. Voir le carte

Booked to come here for my birthday dinner for 17 people; firstly I want to say THANK YOU to Emily and her team on making it such a great evening, from the table decorations to service and the food. The table was beautifully laid and the attention to detail was great, the service was very professional and friendly, the food was spot on no complaints for any of the dinners with my group. I will admit I am a super control freak micro management, email crazy person. Emily dealt with my questions with no worries. First visit ever. Varied menu with a good selection. £116 for four, starter and main and drinks. Pub was very quiet. Plenty of parking. Pleasant outside seating. Nice restaurant inside. Authentic pub feel inside. Service was polite. A few tweaks and it would be 5/5. Mussels had too many with broken shells which becomes difficult to separate. The sauce was very nice and the bread fresh and tasty. Chicken roulade with white wine and mushroom sauce had no sauce as described and was covered with gravy?? This really spoilt the dish.
