"My husband and I were in the restaurant at 5pm for dinner in August. I had half lobster and my husband had sea bass. The staff were very pleasant. The two meals were poor. The lobster had very little fish inside and the side salad in the bowl was small and dripping in oil and not well presented. My husbands salad was the same and his fish did not taste nice. We both had a beer before our meal which was flat and not nice. My husband did not drink his. I had a glass of wine with my meal which was fine. Not long after my meal my stomach was rumbling. Later that evening my husband said his was the same. Next day my stomach continued to be upset. Hence to say that I will not be back to Deans Love Fish again. I would not even accept a free meal. We have been a few times to Deans on the Lisburn Road. The food there has been good with excellent service. Extremely disappointed"

Walked past this place whilst sightseeing in the city and thought this looks interesting . Booked lunch for the following day and was not disappointed! Good seafood, well prepared and served by friendly staff. Nice wines to complement the dishes. Light and airy restaurant, chic French bistro style.

an absolute must see when belfast visits for the day. they make a start-theater menu of 5-7.30, with appetizers £4 and main courses £10, for beautifully presented foods I find this a tasty! beautiful selection of cocktails and a very large selection of menu. I tried the fish cake, the rump steak and the popcorn and ice cream. all amazing. my steak was beautifully boiled and the dessert took everything. beautiful place for eating, will definitely be back

next a eggpic duo with salted bark with water circles and petite radishes and hake paired with crabs and sweet carrots. a creamy wild mushroom risotto was a perfect segue before he fillet the hannan 35 day skyalayan salt aged beef, which was tasted with bark-driving chips, roasted tomatoes, fried oyster mushroom, buttermilk wobble rings and stelton cream. after an unforgettable marathon of a solid I was ecstatic to cross the sweet-finish line over black forest ice cream sundae. While I never had the like to try deanes favorite cheese in the evening, I could not help but smiled at the ripe braut and crispy blue, which seemed to be waving at me as I...read more

deans at queens is probably my favorite restaurant in northern Ireland. about the years I have been with my wife, the whole immediate family and for a series of great celebrations there. recently I went to lunch with some close friends and again I was not disappointed in a relatiw leaving with the room beginning, we over an hour to decide what to eat. the personal was attentive, but never intrusive, and I think we could have lasted half an hour and it would have been good. despise the enticing blackboard specialties, we chat for the lunch menu and it was great it is the personal and the atmosphere that makes this a special place to eat. eating is raw, but...read more

Suggest to me a trip away and my response is immediate: Where's the best place to eat Doesn't matter where it is or what we're going for, as long as there's going to be spare time while we're there, my preoccupation will always be to find the finest local restaurant. My wife really wants to go to the Edinburgh Festival one day; The Kitchin s already planned. My family visit a relative on the Isle of Wight every year; The Hambrough is on the agenda for the next time I go along. I simply can't help it, it's just the way my mind works. When some friends of mine announced they'd be getting married near Belfast, I began searching for the city's best restaurant before I even got...read more

The restaurant is in a nice location, but when I asked to sit at a window table, I didn't like that people passing by could see my plate. Unfortunately, not all of the daily specials were available due to the large crowd. The waitress informed us that two dishes we wanted were already sold out. We decided to order the mussels, but they weren't as described on the menu. The photos on the website were also not related to the dishes on the menu. The food was decent, but the presentation lacked passion. The final chocolate dessert wasn't as dark as stated on the menu. The wine also wasn't cold enough. Overall, I would rate my experience a 5 out of 10. I don't plan on returning. The service was g...

My favorite restaurant for a Saturday afternoon lunch is Love Fish. I always struggle to choose just one starter, so I decided to try the fish fritters and the brown crab rarebit, both priced at £6.50 each. They were both delicious. My wife ordered the Whitebait with curry mayonnaise, also priced at £6.50, and it was crispy and delightful. For our mains, I had the fish pie with greens for £18, while my wife had the Lobster with salad and fries for £27.50. We also enjoyed water for £4.75, a bottle of Chez Deano Sauvignon for £28.95, and a French Martini for £10.95. The fish pie was topped with creamy potato and had plenty of fish inside. The lobster was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
