Delicious food and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Best banoffee pie ever. Will definitely eat here again.

I decided to stop by for an early dinner without a reservation. I was promptly seated and served. I enjoyed a delicious meal and a couple of drinks. Surprisingly, it was quiet for a Saturday. The staff was friendly and attentive.

I enjoyed a fantastic Christmas meal today (December 17th) at this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and when the menu promised 'all the trimmings', they definitely delivered. Oh my goodness, what a discovery! I just had the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a hint of herbs in the batter. The portion size was huge (unfortunately, I couldn't finish it all), and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were friendly as well. Definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant.

This was my choice as I haven't been for a number of years as I live in Australia. I must say it didn't disappoint. We had a waiter who had a sense of humour and was joining in with some banter which was refreshing. I had scampi and it was lovely, my cousins had a chicken breast dish and Moules Mariniere which were both incredible. Would definately recommend. In fact I have booked again already...maybe I will see how many visits I can get in before I go back, try a few more things on the extensive menu..bravo Crab and Anchor.

The wife I have been coming to The Crab Anchor for many years have always enjoyed an excellent meal. The menu is pretty extensive, beef, chicken, pasta, sea food vegetarian so there really is something for everyone. We usually visit during for weekend lunch, we don’t book have always managed to get a table OK but I suspect it may be busier during the evening. Located tucked away behind Morrisons in Southwood Village Centre. Great for large family groups or as a couple. The staff have always been polite friendly. This is a great local independent restaurant so much better than the pub chains. We will return again soon :O) Voir le carte

I can’t decide on 2 or 3 out of 5. This place used to be a regular for us but since Covid have only been back in on few occasions as has not been as good. Tried again this weekend, roast was tasty, other mains no longer come with vegetables so you have to pay extra, plates were not very well cleaned/dried, waitress rushed us through each stage of visit, didn’t pay any attention to what we were saying so wrong drinks on both rounds, the man who struts around is unfriendly and unhelpful. Tasty beef, tasty chicken, but no atmosphere (was very quiet for lunchtime), poor staff…. I assume other customers have given up too. Can get better elsewhere so we’re done with Crab and Anchor once and for al...

Wow and not in a good way , I had a sea food grill ..too salty ,deep fried mussels were dried up and hard . It was our wedding Anniversary meal ,didn't want to make a complaint ,so when Marco came to see how our dinner was ,I told him how it was and said I'm hungry so eaten some of it, he shrugged his shoulders and said OK and walked off , no sorry for that . When we went to pay the bill husband said are you going to take something off as my wife didn't eat everything , he said well your wife saud she is hungry I will eat ,so you didn't give a chance to do anything , by this time I said to my husband don't worry pay for it its clearly my fault the food was bad and left .. very dissapointed n...

As locals we used to come for dinner most weeks pre-pandemic, having had years of fantastic meals with equally fantastic service, but some disappointing experiences afterwards stopped us for quite a while. We decided to book an early-ish Saturday dinner at 7pm thinking The Crab must be back to standard. Sadly this wasn’t the case. Despite a half empty restaurant and plenty of waiting staff, it took over 30 minutes before anyone took our drinks order and it continued like that. The nachos starter which used to be fabulous had a weird processed dip instead of real sour cream, and instead of salsa we had sweet chilli dip.
