Spent two nights at this delightful hotel. Stunning views. Food excellent. James, Gary and Jane made this a memorable two nights. Will certainly be back!

Comfortable rooms, fantastic views, delicious food, all staff were polite, friendly and very obliging. Considering the grand style of the hotel, thought it was reasonably priced.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness standard at this family run hotel. The food was amazing. The views were very beautiful. The staff were very friendly. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at this venue. It ticked all our boxes.

Great service good food, good price, the room was bright and airy and they were so helpful to us, it has been redone recently and looks great, very COVID aware and very good at the sanitising after you and others, really recommend the place for food or a stay

After a 3-year absence, we returned to the restaurant and were pleased to find that the staff, ambiance, and service were just as exceptional as we remembered. This time, we had the opportunity to dine in one of the marine-themed rooms on the ground floor, which was beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy. The only downside was that the room door had a slight rattle that could be annoying, but it was easily fixed by inserting a beer mat.

My wife and I spent three days at the Commodore in May. Our experience was wonderful from the moment we arrived in the car park and our luggage was taken straight to our room by the manager. The excellent service continued throughout our stay, with the staff being extremely helpful and willing to assist with anything we needed. Our room was clean and comfortable, and all of our meals were beautifully presented and delicious. I would definitely recommend the Commodore Hotel to my friends.

We came to this restaurant in July as part of a tour to celebrate my birthday. It was just as fantastic as it has always been, and Mark always makes us feel very welcome. He remembered us because we have a unique electric tandem bike, and he was kind enough to let us store it overnight in the hotel garage. I believe we stayed in room 23, which had a fantastic view of the well-maintained gardens. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as always. We couldn't find any faults and can't wait to come back again.

Afternoon visit with elderly friends. Greeted at front door with offers of assistance. Hand gel given. Directed into room over looking the water. Plenty of space to move. Staff attentive and pleasant and although wearing masks obvious they smiled. Hot scones and with my preference fruit scones. Although we knew they were closing for a private function later we were not rushed. Lovely view a very enjoyable afternoon. A little more expensive than else where but for this you get space service snd ambience for a special afternoon worth every penny

The Commodore Hotel, Instow, EX39 4JN is situated in an outstanding position in the village of Instow overlooking the coast and Appledore. The Commodore opened originally in 1968 by Bruce Patricia Woolaway, Gary’s parents and later their son Gary became the entrepreneur with the help of his family. Walking up to the Commodore through the grounds is enchanting with views across the beach. On entering the Commodore, Gary stands by the door with a welcoming friendly smile assisting a person to the table or room inside the hotel or outside, nothing is too much trouble for him.
