"New management and it shows!! We 've always been regulars but we stopped whilst it changed hands. My sister visited and said it was new management and much better so we gave it another go. It was lovely. Food was perfect, exactly how we requested it, very good quality and good prices. One waitress was abrupt but the other staff and new manager more than made up for that. Clean, tidy and the lovely old atmosphere is back. Hats off to the new manager because he has turned it around within a few days looking forward to becoming regulars again."

My gammon steak (5oz as part of the mixed grill) was lovely and tender. My father's (10oz platter) was tough and chewy. waitress and other staff very pleasant but waitress didn't know which bitters were available not sure if she knew what a bitter is. Good value. Our little dog was made very welcome thank you.

My brother and I are truck drivers, and we decided to grab dinner and a few drinks for the night. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was very friendly. While I found the drink prices to be a bit pricey, the 2-for-1 deal on main dishes was quite reasonable. Overall, it's a great place to eat and socialize with friends, so I would definitely go back.

I had a lovely experience at the pub. Upon arrival, we were informed about a limited menu and reduced kitchen staff, but that wasn’t an issue for us since we decided to order the turkey dinner. The waitress advised us that there would be a 10-minute wait. After the ten minutes were up, our food arrived. We also ordered dessert and were pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was. had lunch today and it was absolutely amazing. the customer service was excellent and the food was super, very well presented and fresh. massive screamed after vicky, who was our hostess today, and she was brilliant, as nothing was too much annoyed, even though she was really busy. will definitely be back here on a regular basis. they adapt to their nutritional needs with ease. many thanks that they all do their to a great job

To be honest, our experience with the meat on Sunday during the Bark Meat Oktober event, when I was served from the COVID menu, was a bit underwhelming. However, today marks our return to Bridgend's finest restaurant, and I'm excited to see a large new menu available. I'm secretly hoping that the specials board makes a comeback, but one step at a time! The service was fantastic, and the food was delightful. Many thanks to everyone! xx

"So came here last night 13th oct. 9 of us 2 of which 2 young kids. Had starter , calamari this was ok, sauce was nice. Main was lovely which was lasagne really quite tasty it came with chips which were nothing special if im honest, i ordered a side of garlic bread with it which was nice, The host was a nice guy very chatty, the staff seemed a little clumsy if im honest, just as we sat down a tray of drinks went down the back of my sister because the waitress wasn't looking what she was doing although accidents do happen so no biggy, although I will say nothing was offered! No extra drinks, a free starter, nothing!!! This brings me on to the cost. Not much beer choice at all, consisting of draught peroni which was are you sitting down) £6.50 a pint! So I ordered a bottle of bishops finger which i thought was a 500ml bottle, it didn't say on the menu the size of the drink which i think it should have, Well the bottle came and it was a 330ml bottle!! £4.70 for a 330ml bottle!!! im sorry but thats to much, come on guys. We all had a starter and a main with dessert each, i had the newyork cheesecake, which was ok but tasted abit like something frozen, didn't seem home made to me anyway. The Total bill came to just over £400!!! £60 of which was a service charge i was told by someone on the table, but the owner has now said that there was no service charge so if this is the case then i apologise), we were a decent size group but you know when you've gone somewhere and feel that the cost is just too much. Nice restaurant but too expensive imo."
