"We had a nice meal at this restaurant and actually were saying how much we liked the restaurant until we recieved the bill which had a mistake on it. We ordered a bottle of wine but were given the wrong one,no problem with that and they changed to another one. Then when we got the bill the wine we ordered cost £24 but we were billed £30,we asked the waitress to please amend by £6 and she said ok and went to speak to managment. George returned ,suppose he was assisant manager and said he can’t refund the £6 as we had drank the £30 bottle we said no it’s £24 on the menu ,he proceeded to show us it was £30 and this is when we relised that they had actually given us a £30 bottle of wine which wasn’t the one we asked for! Seriously can you believe they got our order wrong not once but twice! Yes I know it’s only £6 but it was the way George proceeded to argue and became obnoxious and arrogant. They made the mistake not us! He then went to refer to his manager again who was hiding and came back again to say no refund. Seriously! The manager should have come out and seen us out of respect.Disgraceful behaviour,This completely ruined what had been a nice evening and we left disappointed and upset. We felt bad not leaving the lady waitress a tip as she was lovely but the way George and the No balls manager treated us was totally unexpectable and we left! So overall food nice but George and managerment team poor! Shame coz we would have left a big tip"

"As someone who enjoys dining out and trying new restaurants, I was extremely disappointed by my recent experience at The Galloping Horse. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this would not be a dining experience worth remembering. To start with, it was clear that the food at this establishment was not made fresh. Everything tasted as though it had been cooked from frozen, and lacked the depth of flavor and texture that comes with freshly prepared ingredients. The vegetables were limp and flavorless, the meat was dry and tough, and even the sauces lacked the vibrant, complex flavors that are characteristic of homemade cooking. I was thoroughly disappointed by the quality of the food, which left me feeling unsatisfied and wishing I had gone somewhere else. The chips were particularly bad. They tasted cheap and flavorless, like they had been purchased in bulk from a discount warehouse store. They were clearly not made fresh and lacked the crispy texture and salty flavor that makes them such a beloved side dish. I couldn't help but feel like I was eating something that had been thrown together quickly and without care. To make matters worse, the prices at The Galloping Horse were extremely high, especially given the low quality of the food. I felt like I was being ripped off, paying exorbitant prices for food that tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer for weeks. It's clear that this restaurant is more interested in making a quick profit than in providing its customers with a quality dining experience. Overall, I cannot recommend The Galloping Horse to anyone who is looking for a satisfying meal. The food is clearly not made with care or attention to detail, and the prices are far too high for what you get. Save yourself the disappointment and look for another restaurant that will provide you with a more enjoyable dining experience."

"Went down Ballycastle town for dinner. We had wanted fish and chips and had heard there was a nice chipper at the waterfront but because it was Monday evening it was closed. So Marconi’s restaurant was close by and we managed to get a table. First we waited ages to be served. We didn’t really mind that because we were glad of the table when we hadn’t made a booking. Eventually we were served. Then it took another age for the food to be served. Three out of four of us ordered the battered fish and chips and my daughter ordered the beef burger. When the food came I knew straight away that it wasn’t going to be a nice meal. The battered fish pon all three plates was overcooked to a very dark brown colour with the ends being rock hard crispy. It was also so so greasy. Obviously it is deep fried fish but it’s deep fried everywhere else we get the same dish and the batter is always light and fluffy. We didn’t complain because we were absolutely starving at this stage. The chunky chips were alright, again overcooked but not as much as the fish. It also came with mushy peas. We ate the dish, I shared a small bit with my daughter cause I couldn’t finish it because it was horrible. My sons complained about it also but they ate theirs. We paid up and left. The young members of staff were nice and polite. I left a tip because of that, not the food. When we went back to the hotel all three of us felt a bit sick after the meal. I felt the worst and went to bed hoping to go asleep. An hour and a half later I ended up vomiting the entire meal back up. The boys didn’t. They still felt a bit sick, they said it was one of the worst meals they’ve ever had. I don’t think the fish was in any way gone off, it was the disgusting batter. Surely a restaurant that seems to specialise in fish dishes could manage a nice battered fish. Seemingly not. My daughter said her burger was fine, not bad, not good, just fine. Complete waste of money. Also, I saw a senior member of staff clapping her hands to get the attention of customers to bring them to their table. I was shocked at that behaviour."
