"My friend and I were looking for a place to have some Coffee and cake and we stumbled across this delightful little place. Warrington House is a small Guesthouse, with four letting double rooms. It is also a Restaurant and a Tea room. When we found out they sold Tea made with Camomile flowers, we changed our minds about the coffee and had a pot each of Camomile Tea. We also had a huge slice of Butterscotch Cake, which was fresh and delicious! We found it to be very favourably priced, with a lovely selection of cake and also homemade Scones with butter, Cream and strawberry jam. Altogether a very pleasant place and I certainly recommend it!"

Sunday Lunch and the Friday lunch were both very enjoyable, very good food and plenty of it, extensive choice, excellent service, pleasant atmosphere. Would go again. What a pity they don't provide evening meals

Just round the corner from Matthewsons Bangers and Cash garage, Jon and Jane serve up a great range of breakfast options, from full cooked, through lighter versions to eggs Benedict. They also do traditional lunches and coffee/tea and cakes. A friendly welcome and good quality food. Recommended. Voir le carte

On a coffee stop on a coach tour of the area, walking from the car park we encountered a couple of closed for the day eateries. As most of the party were making their way to a bakery for their drinks we opted to go to Warrington House, we were greeted by a friendly woman who swiftly took our order, 4 of us just had hot drinks and partner had a scone also. They were getting ready for lunch service and with more time we would have eaten there.

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
