"I think our favourite is the Rib eye. One is matured to 20 days which we had 'early ', the other is air dried 40 days from a 17 years old retired 'milker '. The heavily marbled meat is all superb, it 's much fattier than the usual British beast. There is a totally different denser flavour dimension in there from all that buttery fat and the maturity of an animal that 's lived a full and long life outdoors. It 's deep and and earthy with a bit of a chew (not that elastic chew though like you get with cheap steaks) but that real intense primal flavour is what you get. If you 're really into your steak you have to try this."

The main menu (small plates) and weekend roast menu are both exceptional. Visited recently and can comfortably say it's the best meal I've had in a looooooooong time.

the best restaurant outside the center of some brilliant as always, must be the best restaurant outside the city center that is within the m60. Eat and service is excellent, strong beat 2 of the lamb jawarma to order as you are not enough!

Volta, West Didsbury is one of those effortlessly cool places; it always reminds me of one of the ultra hip Parisienne bistronomiques. It has an interesting menu of small sharing places and some of the best value steaks in the city. Star dish: Dexter fillet.

I've only eaten steak recently. it doesn't matter to me if it's as good as this Galician nativity. I explained before what this meat is doing here and in my last Levanter preview here so special. Since then, even herr rayner has dared to go north to try her! (forget sad though it was wonderful that he loved levanter.)

Nice place to be at. Tapas style menu with good selection. Food was excellent and tasty. Moreover, reasonably priced. Descent selection of drinks. Service is good, not too busy yet welcoming. Outside terrace has heating lamps, which is always a big plus in my book. Overall appearance and aesthetic of the restaurant was pleasant. Definitely will come back.

I'm a big fan of the tapas style serving which has become massively popular post Polpo over the past couple of years, not just restricted to typical Spanish fare anymore. This worked really well at Volta, the menu was broken up into a majority of small plates and with a few meaty mains the whole process was very laid back with food coming when it’s ready and side plates provided from the start so everyone gets to dig in.

Home » england » food review: brunch bei volta, 167 burton road, west didsbury, Manchester. in the interior of volta, some, window view. a place where they should go to some is volta. the hotel is located in the green suburb of west didsbury is a relative newcomer in the most diverse food scene and in the last days best restaurant was awarded in some of the most evening news. our mancunian unhipster hipster friends spoke here very much when we visited a few months ago and so we thought we were a woken brunch.

the building blocks of every large restaurants are qualitatiw high quality product. You always have to start it before you do something else. we were always impressed by the sheer quality of the products they get in Spain. the seafood is always only the meat. it was on a trip to madrid last year that I realized that all these top cuisines (roberto ruiz by punto mx and david muñoz by street xo diverxo for example) often refer to their bark from the northern Spanish, from galicia and san sebastián. we could see why it has a deeper, fuller aroma for the meat when we are used to it in Britain.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
