Was here with my familiy for dinner. The service was as good as we hoped, and the food and drinks the same. Very good athmosphere, and you should make an reservation if you gonna eat on a Friday or Saturday. Good value for money.

This place was THE local place to go! We had dinner one night and went back for coffee and drinks on two more occasions. The food is simple but honest. The wine list offers many good values, especially on german wines. coffee and single malt...cheap too! :

while it is a local restaurant, it is really a jewel clean decor, friendly staff, German traditional cuisine of highest quality wiener schnitzel was impeccable. the selection on weeps (suitable for a dark november night) was excellent and the toskana wein. The venue is pleasant, both inside and out. They seem to have plenty of regulars who are known to the staff. We went on a Saturday evening and it was full- just as well we booked. Staff were friendly and efficient, and a good choice...of food. It was a bit more expensive than I usually pay for a restaurant like this, but probably normal by Hamburg standards.

Corner German style all day cafe bar restaurant. We made a reservation for two, which they understood it for next day, however we were lucky that we found directly a table for two, w/o having originally a reservation. The place around 8:15 pm was full,...the atmosphere really good and stylish (nice paintings on the wall). The service was very good, the waitresses spoke English fluently, the food was also very good. Try the Wiener schnitzel and the Wurst plate, both are really good. Fully recommended for a dinner full of German style atmosphere.

I went here for lunch with 2 colleagues today. We were the first ones to arrive, they had just opened the doors. We were greeted with an amazing smile by a very friendly young lady, who really made us feel welcome and at home. The...venue is a mix of restaurent, café and bar in trendy Eppendorf, next to U Bahn Eppendorfer Baum . The menu has a great choice (also for vegetarians) and all our chosen dishes were excellent. Drinks were also very good and the service purely outstanding. A real good choice for a lunch and paying just over 70 € for 3 was a very fair deal. We will be back for sure! Voir le carte

I'm completely torn about writing this review...help other people enjoy the wonderful experience I had or simply keep them away so the placed isn't mobbed when I want to go? Not very charitable, I admit. A friend brought me to this lovely little spot because...it was already her favorite place in town. It's small, cozy, decorated in traditional bistro style with wood paneling and white tablecloths. The wait staff is charming and fluent in English. The food is excellent continental with lovely twists and combinations. I can't recommend it enough the kind of place everyone wishes were just at the end of their block.

I was at a conference in Hamburg and three of my local friends took three of us to eat dinner at Tiefenthal. We had some amazing wine and wonderfully-prepared appetizers. I ordered the wiener schnitzel for my main course. They offered two sizes, small and...large. The server did not speak English and one of my friends acted as a translator. I asked how large the portions were. It looked like the large was the size of a plate, so I ordered the small. When it came, it was almost as big as the plate. I'm glad I didn't order the large (although I wonder if my friend ordered the large for me anyway! . Regardless, it was cooked perfectly and a real treat. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Another great place for lunch in Hamburg which seems to have numerous very capable restaurants and cafes. Welcoming staff and very pleasant surroundings help a visit here get off to a very positive start. This was a family visit therefore we had our very sociable...one year old grandson with us. As we enjoyed our Bratwurst and oven chips wth asparagus and Zucchini pancakes he attempted, unsuccessfully as far as some were concerned, to make friends with everyone in the restaurant. This aside I can only say that everything under the control of the staff went without a hitch, our food was brought our promptly, it was presented well and tasted delicious.
