"Been here a few times over the years but a few years ago the chips went from the best in Bolton to not so great, too pale and undercooked, but on my most recent visits I found the chips are back to the very best of Bolton and beyond. Lovely thoroughly cooked proper nice brown chips!!! Recently had the thai curry and the fish and chips all delightful. Lovely tasty food cooked perfectly. Had the smaller portion of fish and chips and it was just enough for me absolutely lovely!!! The staff are very nice smiley and friendly. Will definitely be back!!!"

I just had the best Sunday dinner in a long time at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delicious!

Fish and chips are delicious! A definite recommendation (as is the sticky toffee pudding). It’s a very lively pub so can be loud at times but I prefer that to deathly silence!

I recently had lunch at The Thomas Egerton. The food was amazing and Carla, the bartender, was a delight to interact with. She was very helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. I wish more pubs had staff like her.

If you want to be insulted and humiliated this is the perfect place to visit. The landlord thinks nothing of making rude and personal remarks about you very loudly so that others can hear. One of the comments was that I looked ridiculous

A surprise retirement party for my husband organised by his lovely work colleagues. The food and service exceeded expectations as always. The food arrived and every one was served together- and there was a lot of us. Very well looked after by Josh and his team and it made for a fabulous, memorable evening- thank you.
