Time after time of eating here it's just ace to be exited about the same food as you are of new choices shows how good they really are when you can't pick from old favourites to something different and new the all will hit the...spot. Top food, top front of house staff and top chefs. If you haven't been then why not ?? And if you have why you not there now?? Love it 10/10

good location, friendly waiting staff. eating is like any pub, good menu. the drinks are exactly as they are in any bar, any amount option. not impressed by 2 kings halved garnels for £11 for the Taco starters, not even wholesalers would pay for them for profit. the table had to be cleaned and a net had to be returned. overall it tasted good. my family like the relaxed atmosphere.

Our meal was generally good quality except for the chips which were overcooked. It was the prices and extras that normally should be included that disappointed us. £32 for a standard bottle of wine that you could likely buy for about £12, bread dips and...sauce cost extra. We wont be back anytime soon unless prices drop by about 2/3. It's a pity since we'd been given good reviews. Voir le carte

are here several times (on Sunday) and really mean the following as a constructive feedback that can eat in qualitatiw high-quality dinner are quite varied in the regular and the chicken cake (it itself) was good. the burger is often very dry, the kartoffels are dry and cold, the caesar salad came with cold roasted huh (vs grilled) and the chili fries were salted in a tan of their life, it is a beautiful place and the staff is friendly so I hope it improves.

to stay on the way through the landscape in the guest house and find both accommodation and eating wonderful. they called last minute to see if they could sit us for dinner and they don't give us any problem. began with amazing fresh oysters, a delicious gin potion “Southside Fizz” and a scotch sample. the evening meal was just as delicious, we had the moshee and linguine. mustels were perfectly cooked, a place clear that knows her seafood well. the breakfast was also served pleasantly with smoked salmon and touch and a beer. the service remained welcoming and efficient. wants to return a day to the sunhouse!

"I am sitting in my room at the sun inn as I am writing. It's a Sunday. I checked in at 8 15. The one young employee who was in the building was professional but informed me on arrival that the kitchen had closed. Bummer but it is a Sunday. Upon asking when the bar would close he told me 10pm. I decided to go to the shops and buy some cold sausage rolls and a bottle of wine to mitigate the early closing and grabbed a quick single beer in Dalkeith in a bar that closed at 11. My intention was to pay more for somewhere I could have several drinks without driving but I tried to make the best of my origional plan. I got back to the sun inn at 930 to find not a solitary light on and figured I'll watch some TV instead. Only the TV didn't work. I dismounted it after trying to configure settings on the 2 controls. The sky box was not connected sinse it was a flat wall mount and there was only a single accecible hdmi port, out of three, that could be used. That was already oucupied by the fire stick. Now it is sitting on the dresser since it cannot be remounted with both availible devices connected. 40 minutes of fooking around and nothing has changed. The bar is closed. No night porter, no TV, no breakfast and a broken bathtub. All the reasons I paid the extra to come here instead of the cheaper airport option have be removed. The room is nice though. It's as good as an airport one minus the stains on the headboard of the bed."

"Having successfully completed a major project I took my team out as a small thank you. There were 5 of us and we arrived around 1030h for breakfast. We were greeted by the very .lovely Amy, who promptly seated us. She was polite, friendly and attentive. She took our drinks orders, then our breakfasts. We all opetd for the full Scottish at under a tenner each. The meal was fabulous, well cooked, piping hot and presented on high quality flatware with good cutlery. The sausages had a delicious crisp outer, the bacon was well done but not hard, the mushrooms were served in a wee bowl with chilli oil. The eggs were perfect, accompanied by a slice of chunky bread, haggis and black pudding. Beans finished it off brilliantly. The teapot was quirky and delightful. Alison, the owner was not only beautiful but very charming with it. She was involved in the serving of our meals and chatted to us as she served us, making us feel more than welcome. Five breakfasts with assorted lattes, cappuccinos and teas was under £70 so very reasonably priced too. I left a well deserved tip and Alison kindly let me know that the full tip always went to the serving staff, so very ethical too. My colleagues were all as suitably impressed as I was. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the only shame is that my time in Bonnyrigg is over, and I dearly wished I'd found The Beetroot sooner."
