"I had lunch here at the weekend with 6 members of my family, and 4 of us are vegan. We chose this restaurant because it has “vegan” options. When we asked about the vegan burger and chips, we were told that the chips are cooked in the same oil as meat, so they are not vegan. I found this quite concerning, as I couldn’t trust the menu after that. The manager was very polite about it, and she assured us that the menu would be changed, which I really hope it is. Popped in for a spot of afternoon tea with the wife and we had a great time. Food was superb and the staff were absolutely lovely. Very chatty and there was a nice friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to come back for dinner!

They offer a vegetarian and vegan menu with only three main dishes for vegans. The food we sampled was delicious, and despite the limited options, it was still a great selection. I would suggest giving it a try at least once if you are in the area.

Really lovely location by the water and the menu is varied enough without being boring. I enjoyed the cauliflower ‘scampi’ but would’ve liked nori or something with it to make it more like fish. When I ordered vg ice cream it did come out with a Cadbury flake on it? Still, would return. Voir le carte

We stopped in for dinner on our way to Glasgow. The restaurant was charming, beautifully decorated, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We loved the beyond meat burger from their vegetarian and plant-based menu. Highly recommend, especially if dining with a group with different dietary preferences.

Lovely view of the river from the decking, friendly staff and nice looking bar. Only had a coffee which was super. Very accommodating to our kids in letting them sit inside to avoid wasps You know ... at this time of year, wasps are simply homeless and looking for one last sugar hit before they die, that's how I want to go out.

Love it. Gorgeous pub, good beer and cider selection. Great whisky selection. We had coffee walnut cake and a scone and they were both wonderful. Didn't order a main but saw the next table's food come out and it looked and smelt amazing. Bonus is, the staff we all friendly and lovely!! Will definitely be making the trip here again!! We sat outside which was really lovely next to the river. They had a separate veggie/vegan menu with a decent amount of options. I had the cauliflower ‘scampi’ and chips and the chocolate torte for dessert which came with vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream. The food was great! Also, the toilet facilities downstairs were really nice.

Plenty of choice, although lacking in higher protein options if you want something more filling. Something I liked was that there isn't any overlap in the vegan and non-vegan options so you can't accidentally order a non-vegan version of something. The quality of the food is great, lovely setting with a nice atmosphere. On the more expensive side but I'd certainly visit again. Updated from previous review on 2023-03-05

"We ate here this evening whilst staying in the hotel. When we went to book a table in the restaurant (they don’t take walk-ins even for hotel guests) we were informed that there were no tables for another two hours. As we are frequent travellers and had only booked the hotel a few hours earlier I decided to book, what a mistake I made; even during the process of creating the booking the gentleman walked away to fix a card machine for a colleague. With a one year old baby this was less than ideal but we happily went back at 8pm. We were then made to stand in a queue for another 10 minutes before we were seated. They had forgotten the requested highchair so we reminded the gentleman and he said he’d go and get it. Another 20 minutes later our very helpful waitress arrived to take our drinks order and apologised profusely when we pointed out the missing highchair. Generally the service across the restaurant was poor with a clear lack of management or communication. I’d assume something went really wrong with their service this evening as I don’t remember seeing such poor service for many years. The food was ok when it arrived and the waitress seemed to work hard to make up for the problems we had seen early on. Overall service was 1/5 but through no fault of our hard working waitress. Food quality 3/5 average for a Doubletree. Value for money 1/5 they were charging £32.95 for a steak and £4.50 for a Coke! Almost tourist trap prices, and that’s from somebody who stays in Hilton brand properties several times per month. I’ll review the hotel separately upon checkout and I’ll update Flyertalk also but the poor F&B service has unfortunately let the whole hotel down."
