"The entrance was very underwhelming, we were shown to a table with no particular attention to us, which is fine for a hotel restaurant but not one with plaques of its 2 Michelin stars or 19 Gault Millau points at the entrance. We immediately felt the room was loud it has horrid acoustics but we were even more shocked at the jarring decor. However, this can be ignored if the meal is good. Sadly, it was not. The atmosphere was further enhanced by the constant coughing from left, right and center! The two children lying down on the couch were sniffling and coughing, touching everything that the waitress then touched the same waitress serving half the restaurant. Then, a joyous cacophony of coughs from our left too from a couple who seemed to take turns filling the silence with sniffling, blowing their noses and coughing. A lovely start. We sat there for so long that I felt like all the servers were trying to get away with serving one less table and pawn it off to someone else, especially since we were smack in the middle of the room, right at the intersection of all the germs whizzing through the air. Finally, we flag someone for the wine list. We wait. We ask again. We wait, almost as if playing some kind of perverse game to see how many times we would ask for the wine list before giving up. I twist and turn, clearly trying to get service, and someone finally notices me and comes over. I ask for the wine list in a more hurried tone, and they finally oblige us. Amuse bouche comes: the baked potato is great, but nothing else is. It’s a mixture of unnecessary spices and seaweed that they should’ve thrown out last year. Half of them are full of Asian ingredients like bao and kimchi, and so I ask a waitress whether it is Asian influenced and she says no without hesitation. I don’t care if it is Asian influenced, but the dishes continued to show their Asian undertones and so this was a clear lie. Also, why is their spice on everything? You’d only use spice if you had something to cover up… The bread comes. It is cold, but it gets warmer towards one side. There is ONE piece fully warm. It is a gradient of temperature. I’m sure that was intentional. The bread, and the butter, are not particularly good. We wait. First course comes, the woman explaining it glosses over half the ingredients, as if there’s isn’t a menu in front of me that I can read all of what she says, and more, myself. Second course comes, three soups. This time, the menu neglects to mention a bunch of ingredients like berries in the bottom of my soup. I won’t even begin o say how hard it was to drink those soups they were pure salt. The taste is the last thing I care to complain about. Instead, when clearing the dishes, she spills soup on my chair. I only catch it when she is wiping it vigorously, reassuring me it didn’t spill onto my bag or coat. I seriously doubt anything more than vigorous wiping is used to clean furniture there, so the remnants of that soup will forever be stained in that chair. The main comes, there is curry sauce in a meat. Really, try to tell me it isn’t Asian influenced. More spice and Asian food! They give us a proper knife, however all these mini dishes mean there is literally no way to cut the meat on a surface that fits the knife. I really experimented for a while to see what angles the knife could plausibly used from, there are none. Since they had only given us mini forks and spoons the whole meal, which their hands continuously knocked over as they set plates down, this was really unnecessary. On the note of setting plates down they were clearly too heavy for the waitresses. They were practically throwing them down when they got close to the table. They had to balance several at the same time clearly understaffed. It felt like they were constantly sprinting around. We were celebrating a birthday, and the chef came over and just said ‘congratulations’, looking forward to our table, not to either of us. If you’re going to try, come on, try a little harder, please and thanks. We could see his expression change the second he turned around from thanking customers to going back in the kitchen, it was all just insincere facial expressions and hollow words. Just when I thought this saga was over, they do not bring out petit fours, but ask you to choose. To choose? Why do I get a set menu if I have to choose? Better yet, they cannot show them to you for hygiene reasons (I’m sure they’ve realize that the people all around would just cough on the tray as they pointed to what they wanted) but then they give you a menu which every other table has touched to choose your petit fours how hygienic! I ordered a vanilla tonka bean sweet, and what came was pure chocolate. We had already left the cake they gave us to celebrate and a bunch of other desserts because their chocolate was just sub par. Why would I want additional chocolate when I ordered vanilla?! The final thing I must mention is we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine, which we did not finish. We asked them several times to cap it and save it for later, which they agreed to graciously, without capping it. Finally, we left the restaurant. The farewell was nonexistent, we just walked out, but our experience followed us to the room. Turns out, our bottle sat open for over an hour from our first request to when they brought it up to our room, still uncapped, at least 30 minutes after we had left the restaurant. It is evident that the reason this place does not have a proper name is because they do not want to be recognized by anyone who has ever had the misfortune of dining here."

I liked best the excellent service and the formal but relaxed atmosphere, but even more (much much more) the unforgettable masterpieces the kitchen served to the table. The tastes, ahhhh what tastes. Most exquisite!

Impeccable dinning experience in terms of service, ambience and food. From appetizer to dessert end to end, all came with food with varieties, layers of tastes and texture of food in different colors. Refreshing, filling up your appetite but not bound by the tradition concept of different courses. A bit of fusion comingling Japanese, French and Swiss Cuisine.

Were here for the second time. First time was a few years ago and werent blown away. Second time was amazing. One of the most refined dinners we had. Service and food impeccable. No wonder this is considered one of the best restaurants in...Switzerland. As a plus, you will see the Dolder Grand Hotel which is a wonderful property overlooking the city. Prices are high but commensurate with the level of quality in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Will definitely return for special occasions or when foodie friends from abroad are in town.

on a hot summer day out on the terrace. the reception by the service staff is of selected courtesy. the entrance with a series of small vegetarian amuse bulges is excellent - this will turn out for us as a highlight of the evening. we are not completely convinced of the 8-speed menu: only the half of the walks has really tasted us well, and the portions are very small. without the fine brot that is given at the beginning, we would probably be with starving in the bed. very well looked after by the service staff. we also have a very nice impression from the one who inquired about the well-being before dessert.

who really starved is here of course wrong, it is - typical gourmet - about the pure pleasure and the pretty representation on the tellers, which is also very successful. qualitatiw was eating very fine. the many small amuse-bouche were a joyful of the sea, fancy and a pretty idea. the service was attentive. Too bad, there is no à la carte, but you can only choose between 2 preset menus. I am aware that this is probably the desired presentation of chef Koch heiko, but I would like to note this point. which has really disturbed us: there is no need for a clothing style. we found it very unpleasant and inappropriate to eat between T-shirts and flip flops our 700 chf menu. 18 Gault Millau point... The Dolder Grand is the most prestigeous and probably the best five star hotel in Zurich. With The Restaurant, it offers a dining experience that lives up to the sandards it has set for its hotel guests. The first impression at my visit at The Restaurant was as expected: The setting is noble, the view over lake Zurich is exceptional, service is distinguished, the tasting menu presents many classic premium ingredients. Right at the start of the menu, however, it became clear that this would be no ordinary fine dining experience. The beautifully presented and incredibly tasty amuse bouches already raised highest praises from the whole table. As it turned out, chef Heiko Nieder is not afraid to...

the restaurant stands for fine dining in hotel dolder grand. in general, this relaxed perfection is noticeable in the dolder, which makes large houses. The location over the roofs of zürich also contributes to this. The restaurant presents itself in the elegance with a great backing, with pleasantly generous table spacings. The journey through the kitchen of the in the truest sense of the excellent chef heiko low begins with a surprise. the sweetness to the refreshment of the hands is “served” as a court – only after the addition of liquid – just as with a sosse – it unfolds in the deep plateer. exciting and exceptional. The composition of the tasting menu changes depending on the season and so...

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."

From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for the entire experience. First and foremost, I must commend the staff for their exceptional service. Every member of the team was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection.
