"Great food, shame about the housekeeping. The food here is lovely and so are the bar staff but The Red Lion was woefully in need of a bit of TLC last time we visited. No exactly sticky, but at the risk of sounding like Hyacinth Bucket it could definitely do with a good tidy up, nothing that a good DIY man couldn't handle Having said that, the pub itself is charming, the food (especially Sunday lunch) is really, really good and, if you're a bit more laid back than me about the slightly neglected exterior and wonky bog seat, you would have absolutely nothing to complain about here."

We regularly go to this pub. Great food , great atmosphere .we have never had a bad meal here and will continue to come as often as we can .

under new management. brunning and price have bought the pub of the breweries and have just done a 1.5 million renovation. it opens 15th august 2014. had a preview and his excellent, good eating, fab location definitiw worth visiting.

I'm fairly regular dinere here as are my local family. Always spot on food and service, yes it's a bit more expensive then average pub food but this is high end food! Came here last week, service as good as ever you are never rushed...

Went to celebrate husband's birthday. Great welcome from (I assume) the landlord but I'm afraid the food was indifferent. Fish and chips really tasteless and service a bit hit and miss. Pity as the restaurant is a lovely environment in which to eat. Hopefully...
