"We decided to have a few drinks here as a change to our usual pub we’re so glad we did. How lovely to have a beer garden that’s just that….a lovely green space free of “children’s play areas” screaming children! Very pleasant to sit out on a lovely summers evening. We decided on the spur of the moment to eat there as well we all enjoyed our food, traditional faggots, delicious sausage mash with a tasty gravy some great chunky cheesy chips for my son! The staff were all very pleasant welcoming , something that shouldn’t stand out but these days it sadly does. The refurbishment of the pub has been carried out well it’s very comfortable . Pity that more people don’t use a village pub that’s literally on their doorsteps…..come on village dwellers….use it or lose it! You’re so lucky to have a village local that’s as good as this one! 5"

The new landlord is very welcoming and the pub serves excellent food and wine. Been here a few times and would recommend.

We’ve been meaning to go to the Red Cow since it reopened and so glad we did. The food was excellent as was the service. Will be returning.

Absolutely beautiful food. Could not fault anything. I had the lamb shank which was incredible. If I could give 6 stars I would. Staff were amazing, really nice settings. Will be back.

Had a lovely meal here. Would describe as grown up food not your average pub grub. In our opinion pudding menu was a bit lacking but that was just not to our taste. Well kept beer and a friendly welcome.

Pleased to say that now the Red Cow is back open, my oven can have a rest! Holden’s have refurbished this place beautifully, it is light and airy but still with the cosy, warm and welcoming feel. We went for Sunday dinner and certainly weren’t disappointed! We will be returning again and again!

I have visited this restaurant twice in the past few weeks. The food is not only delicious but also served hot! I have requested dishes that were not on the menu and had no problems making substitutions. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. I will definitely be returning, especially with my picky eating habits. Thank you!

Last visited The Red Cow 45 years ago when I was 10, I remember the donkey in the field that is now the beer garden. Its changed quite a bit to say the least. Booked a table for Sunday lunch, we ordered the roast beef and lamb. The meal was lovely and freshly cooked, served by a polite and cheerful young lady. Will definitely return to sample other meals.

Very disappointed in portion sizes, quality. Staff were scruffy, tables weren’t clean and flies on cills and bothering you whilst eating. We have been going to this pub for 5+ years but of late has recently changed management, there seems to be a constant change of staff they’ve spent a lot of money doing it up and it’s lovely but they need the right staff to compliment it. Won’t be going back for a long time

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity.
