"A lovely country pub in Affetside nr Bolton. It is a very old pub but has been modernised with a lovely large, light conservatory on the back and lots of outside seating. The food was great especially the cheese and onion pie. My friends also very much enjoyed their choices. Great atmosphere, very busy, I definitely recommend you book, even during the week. We were there Thursday evening and it was full either no spare seating. The small desserts with coffee for £7.50 are perfect for those who love a desserts but struggle to eat a full one after a main course"

We reserved a table at the Pack Horse for my mum's 80th birthday celebration, and everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is well worth the drive. It's up in the beautiful countryside, great atmosphere, great food. I have eaten and drank here several times and it doesn't disappoint. I did however have the cheese and onion pie which had a larger proportion of potato (big pet hate! than I would have liked however the quality was there. Lovely log fires to keep you warm and a selection of real ales which are well kept to keep you hydrated! Add this to your to do list, it won't disappoint!

Thank you so much to the team at the Pack Horse for helping to make my birthday celebrations perfect. There were 10 of us (plus a 1 year old for Sunday lunch and, not only was the food perfect, but the team were also very accommodating for a couple of additional requests. I can’t remember the names of the ladies that were serving our table (sorry! but I think one of them may have been called Diane. I chose to eat there for my birthday because the food and staff are always lovely and I wasn’t disappointed.. Would highly recommend… thanks again
