The Owl Lichfield - Carte

It was our first visit to The Owl yesterday. The menu was mainly based around Sunday roasts. I had a lovely roast beef and my husband had the pie of the day. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and the service very good ....Will definitely be visiting again.

We had a really nice meal, we had pizzas they was fresh made to order and portions sizes were really good especially the kids ones. My partner had burger meal good quality meat and food came out promptly. Puddings were very tasty too would...definitely go back again the kids have already asked!

Waited nearly an hour for food to arrive even though we were the first customers in the restaurant. Several tables were served their food before us and still nothing. Waitress eventually told us that there was a problem in the kitchen after we asked her...where our food was. Left just as the food was coming out and it looked like it had been rushed out. Manager was somewhat apologetic. A shame because our visit before Christmas was very good. Will not be returning.

Had a fabulous meal yesterday however a customer complained and upset others. This was handled with the greatest respect by front of house Michelle. There are different ways of complaining and you don’t have to be rude this was totally unacceptable. Michelle is a great...host and handled the situation with respect to all the customers. The Owl is a wonderful place to go nice atmosphere and very attentive staff. Food delicious and always abundance of fresh vegetables ‘well recommended’

We booked late notice on a busy Sunday, even though they were extremely busy the lady on the phone managed to find us a dog friendly table in the bar. The service was absolutely excellent. We don't normally ask a servers name to leave a...review, however we did with Ian, as he was super friendly and efficient and even went out of his way to get our dog a bowl of water, even though it was very busy. Fabulous lunch.....cannot fault it!!! We went Saturday lunch with my family and we were welcomed by the staff and shown to our table. Nothing was too much trouble for the man, who had to return to take our order several times as we were too...busy nattering!!! There was no rush, and he was vvv friendly and chatty. We ordered the mains, which arrived promptly and were truly delicious. Very good portion sizes, and we struggled to finish the food. Finished off with a liqueur coffee, the perfect end to a delicious meal!! We will be back...xx

We booked for sunday lunch for including our year old and we were guided to a table for The lady waitress clearly lacking in manners and customer service skills sighed and moaned when we explained we would need a bigger table. We...then order the chicken sunday lunch which came out as half a roast chicken. We asked could we have chicken breast as the menu was unclear to be told again by the unpolite lady no one else has ever complained . We then asked to see the manager who we find out doubles as the cook !! Well he huffs and puffs and hardly lets us explain before pointing aggressively at his poorly written menu. We booked a table for monday and their booking enigne demanded a non-refundanle deposit. We paid this and booked a table. They then emailed to cancel us and we rang them . They announced that they had decided to close that day and so we...had lost out. They would not return our deposit either they said deposits were at our risk even though they had cancelled our booking and we still wanted it . My wife mentioned that they were still open to take bookings and tdeposits for that day on the booking engine even though there was no way anyone booking would be ableto eat or even to get their deposit back wasn't that unethical she asked, The lady on the phone didn't care and said give us a review i...
