"Booked in for a family meal whilst on holiday on our last night! Started off by being on two separate tables by the dilapidated arcade area. However, I was super looking forward to an English fan favourite…fish and chips by the sea! YUM! So nothing could dampen my mood. But apparently it was **** carvery night and they couldn’t cook fish because they needed the fryer for the roasties! WTF!? How can you not serve fish and chips! In the end had to settle for a piece of cardboard that apparently was gammon, my fiancé had the carvery which came with a salty gravy, that had the texture of melted chocolate! Needless to say I won’t recommend this place to anyone. If I could give no stars I would. Only positives I have are the chap on the door was very accommodating and the Madri is very nice."

I just had the most incredible meal at this restaurant, and I have to say it's the best. From the friendly staff to the delicious food, there's nothing not to love.

This is the best fish and chips I have ever had! They were served hot and freshly made by incredibly friendly staff. It made our day at the beach perfect. Thank you!

We have been in The Louth several times for drinks and decided to go for Sunday lunch. My husband had fish chips, which he said was lovely. My very hungry friend had Mixed Grill I don't know how he finished it all. He enjoyed it. My friend and I had Sunday Carvery one of the best we had both tasted in a long time. Choice of 4 meats I had turkey and pork. Generous helpings. All the veg was fresh and hot. We will definitely be going back! Voir le carte

Went for breakfast. We missed it so had the carvery. The vegetables were undercooked. The stuffing ball was a brick. Couldnt get my teeth or knife in it. Hardly any gravy given. Yorkshire pudds were tasteless. The turkey was ok but the ham was too hard and inedible. Very very disappointed. Left feeling hungry. Had blackcurrant and water for a drink. The blackcurrant was the cheapest ever. It was nearly £3 each per pint!!! Dont usually pay much more than 50p for just the squash.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with a great value carvery. The service was impeccable, with a glamorous lady who went out of her way to make our daughter feel special. The meat was delicious and the vegetables were fresh. The staff were incredibly friendly and took care of us in a very personal manner. It is worth noting that this restaurant is dog-friendly, so if that is a concern, I recommend asking to be seated away from any dogs or choose a different dining option.

The food was okay, not a lot of chicken in the wrap. I’m coming on here to talk about allergies and intolerances, I am pescatarian and gluten free, my partner when to let them know of this and the waiters they said they would go and see what they can do.. I was sat out the back and heard the two chefs call me a ‘b*tch’ for have a gluten intolerance, I think this is not acceptable and was very upsetting to hear as I cannot help if I can’t have gluten. I won’t be coming back as I don’t feel as if they won’t cater to me.. Voir le carte

This diamond pub really is a little gem. Food is lovely. Well cooked and always piping hot. We have been in with just me and my husband but also with our family of 12 and always been treated with kindness and consideration. Two members of our family are gluten free which has been accommodated for without fuss and with a great respect for the condition. They are kind to the dog and lovely to the children. The staff always have a smile and fall over themselves to meet your needs. It’s not like some local pubs when strangers walk in, everyone looks. Everyone from staff to customers makes you feel welcome. Well done “the Louth” for a great effort

Brilliant pub for great food. We went there a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday but hadn't booked. The man at the front managed to get a table for us by rejigging things and they did everything the could for us. Our youngest daughter has dairy and soya allergies and the chef came out to us telling us what she could eat, including which meals she could have if we omitted certain things. Every time the man who got us the table came past he'd stop and chat to her, making her laugh and generally ensuring wr had a great meal. We've been before and never had a bad meal. The previous time was last November and the waitress came and sat with us and had a lovely chat whilst we were eating as it was out...

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
