Absolutely stunning as usual. We went there the Saturday evening before Mother's day, as a last-minute booking. They accommodated all 7 of us with no issue. My only complaint is they need to have a chicken meal on the children's menu without batter. Adults portions are massive, high quality as well. Can't wait for the next time. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and young, but could have been more attentive to our table as they got busy. The ribs were bland and both my sons and I found our steaks to be very tough. I ended up leaving most of my meal and when I told the waiter, he didn't seem very interested. Considering they have been in business for 23 years, I expected better customer service. Additionally, my 95-year-old mother found the Pensioner's Menu to be too large for her, especially since it ended at 3pm. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was busy, but we likely will not be returning. The average price per person was £80–90.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a perfectly cooked 8oz steak meal, while my companion enjoyed a fantastic T-bone steak. The atmosphere was memorable, and they still cater to convicted men who dine here. They also offer a lunch menu from 12 to 3 for seniors at a reasonable price, with tempting dishes. The added convenience of being able to book a parking space for Cardiff Wales Airport is a plus. This gem of a place has remained consistent in quality even after my first visit post-COVID. It's a popular spot, so I recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table at your desired time. I planned my trip to dartmoor to visit this pub. I went years ago and thought it was great. I waited with my dog and partner in the car for it to reopen at 6. Went in and was welcomed, they gave the dog some water. They took drinks orders. Soon after the lady owner started shouting at me saying to keep my dog in one area. He was on a lead so i said where would to like him to go? She continued shouting and saying she had people over for dinner and the dog is making the floor dirty. He is a medium sized cockerpoo and the floor is dark stone so we were confused as to why the dog wasn't welcome. She said we can go if we want which made us feel like we ought to.
