very delicious food. first class service. lots of space in a well decorated, relaxed environment. no distracting loud music. we got a lot of time to choose our meal. no pushy waiting staff that tried to feed us and move on.

The restaurant was quite busy, but we were able to get a table in one of the cozy bar sections and ordered at the bar. You simply inform them of your table number, and they bring the food to you. I enjoyed a delightful salad with squash, nuts, and seeds.

Was very impressed by the food,, it was delicious, hot and exactly what was stated on the menu. It was brought to table with excellent timing and the staff very polite and courteous. I just had dinner at the newly revamped Hawes Inn, and what a remarkable transformation it is! I had enjoyed my earlier visits (only two, unfortunately, due to the pandemic), but this renovation has truly given the place a fresh lease on life. The staff are incredibly friendly and uplifting, the food is exceptional, and the decor strikes a perfect balance between traditional and contemporary styles (I apologize for the lack of photos; I was too busy having a wonderful time!). It brings me so much joy and pride to see such investment in Scotland's historical sites, and I would love to see more of it. Huge congratulations to the entire team for their efforts in making this happen. I can't wait...

In a charming yet spacious inn located right beneath the Forth Railway Bridge, the setting is truly stunning, and the interiors are warm and inviting. They offer a complete vegan menu featuring around five starters, five main courses, and four desserts. Our meals were delightful, with my partner's curry standing out as especially tasty. We also enjoyed a lovely dessert. The prices were reasonable, and the service was commendable. The only downside was that it was a bit confusing to figure out how to get a table; the sign at the front indicated we should go to the bar, which was somewhat difficult to locate and quite busy. I and my family have been regularly in the hawes for many years and is a firm favorite of my Canadian family when they visit. five of us visited last night and we were all disappointed about the service that was painfully slow. we had to ask three times for our drinks. our eating took an old and two of our group had almost her head before the rest of us even had our meal before us. we decided that it will take too long to order desserts and some had baileys and I as a driver ordered a cappuccino. again, that was waiting long. my coffee was hardly warm, had no cappuccino frit and could not even melt a sugar cube.
