The Globe Inn - Carte

Decided to try The Globe whilst looking at places to eat near to where we were staying and I have to say I'm so glad we chose it. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. One thing I will say is that the portions are HUGE

Wow, what a Sunday lunch we were served(as always). Food was delicious, fresh, hot and perfectly cooked. Staff were all lovely and attentive, nothing was too much trouble followed by a cheesecake to die for . My favorite place for a Sunday lunch

Last minute booking for a table of 10 and they made space for us with no issues. Food is good hearty portions. Service was excellent and no complaints from the food whatsoever all cooked perfectly. Menu not massive but something on there for everyone. Voir le carte

4 of us went last night for a meal. No one was disappointed. The food was delicious, served quickly and hot. All the ingredients were fresh and unusually for a meal we were served'proper chips'. The price was very reasonable too. Would highly recommend it.

I visited The Globe with a friend recently and the food and service were exceptional. Everything was freshly prepared and proper chips…what more could you ask for and all brought to the table by a lovely young lady who couldn’t do enough for us. Keep up the good work Team Globe

Easy to see why this place is so highly rated. Called in for the steak night and we had the 12oz sirloin. The chef clearly knows what they're doing, fantastic food and the peppercorn, and mushroom and garlic sauces are out of this world. Homemade desserts are brilliant too. While the staff was nice the food was completely sub-par. We felt like the person cooking did not know what they were doing, from rare steaks served well done to items served with the supermarket s packaging. Other tables left half the way through their meal too. I am sure there was something really wrong that evening. Nevertheless, all the staff was genuinely nice!

Previous Landlady retired and the pub has now come under new management. The pub is no longer welcoming to locals and visitors. Staff just want to get out of the place as soon as possible, closing the bar as soon as they can, going back to the 1980's with 10mins drinking up time. They no longer cater for customers and the friendly atmosphere has gone, they just want your money, what happened to the customer comes first. Many regulars have now found somewhere else to drink. Once the kitchen is reopened the pub will just become an gastro pub with real drinkers and regulars not welcome. If their attitude dosent change, then the pub will go the way of the nearby Lowther Arms and not become a via...

We came to visit cleator moor in April for a birthday, we looked for places to eat and we came across this and drove straight past it as we didn't think it looked very inviting from the outside... We have come back a few months later for a return visit and after doing our research decided to try it. We are so glad we did the food is absolutely beautiful, what a gorgeous hidden gem, we liked the food so much the sirloin is amazing) we have come back the next day to eat again before we venture home Sunday. Like I say first impressions from the outside aren't the best, but take the plunge and go in. The staff and the locals are lovely , warm, welcoming and will tell you all the hidden gems rega...
