This is a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal and a drink. The staff were very friendly, there's plenty of parking available, and it's right by the river.

Decent Greene King. Enjoyable, tasty and interesting menu Duck and Venison pie was delicious but lacked venison which was a pity. Friendly and efficient staff. Good value for money.

Warm welcome and smile from Jenni, Charlie and his colleagues made us settled and at home...being warm and attentive but not intrusive. Fab food, we had fish n chips, fish flakey fish, lovely proper chips and real tartar sauce. Simply delicious and great value! Voir le carte

Wow! What an amazing place! The staff is friendly and professional, the beer is fantastic, and the atmosphere is beautiful. The food is outstanding as well. Be sure to check out the specials! I will definitely be coming back. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. I'm very happy with my experience!

at my last visit there were many problems with the kitchen, the staff and the slow service. this was however by the manager in the layer in the night that was amazing. she could not have done more to solve the problems, and she was definitely the saving gnade of this review. the food was late as usual excellent. I had an amazing meal at The George! We encountered a minor issue with our drinks, but the friendly and attentive staff resolved it right away. Kudos to the chef—everything on our plates was fantastic, especially the roasts and Yorkshire puddings! The meat was divine, and our waitress even told us about a local vendor. I absolutely recommend visiting this place; it’s perfect for outdoor dining in the summer and wonderfully cozy in the winter! The service was excellent, the food was superb, and the drinks were great as well. Overall, a wonderful experience!

I visited for Sunday lunch and tried the rib of beef, which was outstanding. The beef was tender and slow-cooked, effortlessly separating from the bone. The Yorkshire pudding was fluffy and crispy, and the vegetables were perfectly prepared. I returned this week (November 2023) and was served by Lizzy, who was helpful, clear, energetic, and cheerful. I opted for the no-leaf salad with added butternut squash, which was filling and felt very nutritious. I indulged in a Bakewell tart for dessert, which, while not the healthiest choice, was definitely worth it! Price per person: £20–30. Food: 4/5. Service: 4/5. Atmosphere: 4/5.

This is my local after work drink place, so I 've been many times. The staff are always really friendly, and for drinks, never any issues. But the food service experience isn 't amazing. There are regularly things out of stock, which you only get told about once you 've ordered. A colleague who can 't have alcohol in their food was made to feel quite othered whilst the server went back and forward 5 times to the kitchen to work out if the scallops came supplied in white wine, or were cooked fresh it was the former. We 've waited more than 45 minutes for food to arrive, on more than one occasion. What arrives is then normally lovely (apart from the gravy for pies is always freezing cold and g... Voir le carte
