"Last week, we stayed at King's Lynn Camping Park and decided to check out The Tor, which is conveniently located nearby. Initially, we had read some reviews advising against this pub because the landlord could be quite blunt. We found that amusing and decided to give it a try anyway. Don’t believe everything you read! The pub was fantastic, and the locals were incredibly friendly. Ray, the landlord, was a delightful character with a great sense of humor! He shared a wealth of information about the area, and we can’t wait to return next year to visit again. We give it a solid 10 out of 10!"

This is a true local pub, beloved by the community. The pub food is excellent and served piping hot, with the curries being particularly impressive. The price per person is reasonable, falling between £10 and £20. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 4 out of 5, the service a full 5, and the atmosphere also a 5. Voir le carte

One of my other customers, who is a social worker, expressed concern when her young son started crying. Her response was particularly troubling; she accused someone of threatening children and revealed her own poor behavior. As a mother, a tenant, and a patron, her actions were completely unacceptable, and I would not welcome her back into my pub again.

As visitors to the area, we decided to dine at the Gate Inn, and we were warmly greeted, even our little dog! The food we had was fantastic—well-cooked, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We certainly didn't leave feeling hungry. There was a selection of four real ales, which is something I really appreciate. I was pleased to see that a third of a pint was poured and discarded before my pint was served, ensuring that I received a quality drink. This attention to detail speaks to a good landlord who cares about the beer served, and I was not disappointed.

"My brother and his wife visited me from Co Durham and we called at this pub for lunch. The menu was limited but we all found something we could enjoy. I ordered Beer Battered Fish with the trimmings costing £11.95. When the fish arrived it looked a bit overcooked but as I ate it I realised that it was fish which I could have bought very cheaply from Iceland, and definitely not Beer Battered. My sister in law ordered Steak and Kidney Pie, this arrived rather obscured by the pile of garden peas, but as she moved the peas she discovered the smallest collapsed pie which had very little meat and was mainly gravy. The cost of this was about the same as the above described fish. My brother ordered the Beef burger. When this arrived it looked quite spectacular. The presentation was very good. Unfortunately the burger, according to my brother, tasted like a burger you would buy at a fairground or at a burger van at a car boot sale. Again this cost £11.95. When the waitress came to ask if all was ok we told her we were disappointed and she said thank you. No one came to see what the problem was. We did eat the food as we were all hungry but the only good thing about the meal were the peas. The chips were cold. The pub is in a lovely position, the décor s very nice, the bar staff were friendly and helpful. The food completely lets it down. How can they describe the fish that I had as Beer Battered ??? How can they charge top dollar for very low quality food?? One star for decor and friendly staff."
