I had a delicious lunch on a peaceful Wednesday afternoon. I highly recommend trying the pie and mash, it was fantastic. I am looking forward to going back to try the carvery. I would give the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect score of 5 out of 5.

We arrived just as lunchtime food service had closed but they offered to continue and provide us with food. Always great to know especially when so often nowadays premises lack flexibility on food times. Looks like renovation works going on to improve the place. After a long journey, we made sure to book ahead to secure a spot at this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and promptly attended to for our drink order. We opted for the lamb shank and fish and chips, both of which were served in a timely manner and cooked to perfection. The lamb shank was accompanied by a delightful selection of vegetables, while the fish and chips featured incredibly crunchy chips and a crispy batter. The attentive staff made sure all guests were well taken care of throughout our meal.

We reserved a table at The Gamekeeper to celebrate my 70th Birthday, and Kim and Sharon were incredibly helpful in ensuring that everything was organized and stress-free. The ambiance was fantastic, with something for all ages. The garden and stream provided entertainment and a cool respite, and the patio area was excellent. The food was delicious, and the chef was attentive when she learned that two of us were Coeliacs. I wanted a family-focused day in a family-friendly setting, and The Gamekeeper family delivered just that.
