"worst eating experience possible!. order from the menu only to say, both main courses were not available and so was the starter!. decided on another pornstar, but we do not wish. a chicken and savory cake with potato masque and baptized was actually a shepards cake, but with huh and no lauch! served with bark meat! Flavour engraving!.a beetroot wellington was a hard crusty bake not much bigger than a rock cake with barely filling and served with dry chip wedge and an salat garnish! unnecessary to say with what was served feel demolished for what we paid, what a bad and substandard meal!. not we back!."

The restaurant is dull and in need of a refurbishment. There are too many tables, making it feel cramped. The beers are expensive. Despite these drawbacks, it has a quirky atmosphere.

The food was delicious with generous portion sizes. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back again. The price per person is between £20-30. Food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5. Voir le carte

Very helpful and friendly service. Booked for table of 8 but had to reduce to table of 3 due to unforseen circumstances, then changed to table of 5 at the very last minute. Staff were very understanding and worked out the last minute change even though they were extremely busy. Excellent food and staff. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5

nice enough and cozy little pub, but the menu makes it quite strong down. too high a concentration in niche (vegan, vegetablist, whatever they want to be called) the menu was pampered by pandering to a mind and not to a majority. decent enough pint when on the expensive side. Finally ok for a drink, they forget it if they want a decent meal.

I arranged a work Christmas meal here and we all had a great time. The communication in the lead up to the meal was excellent and on the day the service was really attentive and efficient and the food was prompt and tasted freshly made and was delicious. I can highly recommend this pub. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so successful. Price per person: £20–30 Voir le carte

A really lovely find. The smell of the food and the real fireplace hits you as you walk in the door. The low ceiling and cozy nooks dotted throughout combined with the very traditional feel create an atmosphere that invites you to stay for hours if not days. The food itself was lovely and the service brought everything together to make what is at heart a quintessentially English pub, executed to perfection. Price per person: £10–20

We were delighted to see that this charming pub has returned to its former excellence during our recent visit. We had a disappointing experience in 2020, but the new owners have successfully revived the establishment. Our only complaint was that it was a bit chilly inside, despite the open fire. However, considering the temperature was around -4 degrees outside, we can appreciate the challenge. The food was delicious, just as we remembered before the pandemic. We look forward to visiting again. The average price per person is £30-40.

"We've often eaten here and had excellent food and service. Until this week. We booked for lunch and our waitress organised drinks very promptly before taking our order. I asked for scampi with a salad, avoiding chips and we also asked for garlic bread to share. When our food arrived, I had scampi and chips with a bowl of salad and no sign of the garlic bread. The waitress suddenly realised I hadn't ordered chips but I said that was OK as my husband would eat them. Despite reminding her about the garlic bread, it never arrived. Our waitress was quiet and efficient, and busy with new arrivals as the restaurant began to fill. We eventually decided it was pointless asking about the garlic bread and finished the meal with tiramisu. The bill duly arrived and in the absence of garlic bread, she offered to take off the service charge. We decided, as the majority of the meal had been fine, to ask for only half of it to be deducted. I think my main problem was with the manager. Although he was there, he didn't deal with any of this problem. He seemed to be fine with going around the tables and chatting to regular customers, but in the matter of the missing garlic bread and the chips I had not ordered, he left the waitress to deal with the problem and didn't even look at us when we left. In many places we have eaten, the manager will normally speak to customers and not leave his staff to face an unhappy diner. Popular eateries don't only rely on their food, their service is just as important, and unfortunately it felt as if no one really cared. Sadly we've eaten our last meal there and won't be coming back."
