"Staying locally in a cottage, most decent local restaurants closed on Tuesday (and Methuen Arms had a leak in the kitchen). Decided to have a takeaway despite mixed reviews. There was plenty of food, we had the mixed starter for 2. The spring rolls were enormous but tasteless, the prawn toast stodgy and bland, the ribs were in a tasteless gravy, not much meat and fatty. For main courses we had Singapore spicy rice, there was loads, but it smelt and tasted of Chinese curry powder. The king po pork was very fatty and greasy, with tasteless veg. The szechuan chicken was, once again very bland, and not much chicken evident. A waste of £40, but it was Chinese New Year today, perhaps the chef was on holiday!"

"I organized a group outing for my colleagues at Casa in Melksham, based on a recommendation from one of our team members. Although they required a deposit upfront and asked us to pre-order our meals, this was completely understandable given the size of our group. I must admit, I was a bit anxious since my previous experiences at Italian restaurants had not been the best. However, the menu was diverse and featured clear descriptions, which was helpful for those of us who aren't regular Italian diners. The food exceeded our expectations, with everyone praising the quality of their meals. We were seated at a large table, allowing us ample space to enjoy our time together. The service was excellent, and the drink selection was also quite good. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience!"

"A Lackluster Indian Takeaway Experience at Akash I feel compelled to share my experience with Akash Indian Takeaway, especially considering my wife's Indian background and our high hopes for a satisfying meal for her parents, who were visiting from Delhi. While we understood that we couldn't expect an authentic gourmet Indian feast in Wiltshire, we were still left disappointed by the overall lack of spice, flavour, and seasoning in the food. It seemed as if the restaurant missed the memo on the essence of Indian cuisine. We ordered a variety of dishes, hoping for an enjoyable culinary journey. However, each one fell short of expectations. The lack of understanding of spice and seasoning was evident in every bite. The food seemed uninspired and failed to capture the vibrant flavors that make Indian cuisine so beloved. It was disheartening to discover that even with our low expectations, Akash couldn't deliver a satisfying taste experience. To emphasise the disappointment, my father-in-law took matters into his own hands and cooked a curry at our AirBNB using the few scraps we had around the house and next to no spices. Surprisingly, his homemade creation surpassed the flavors and richness of the entire meal we ordered from Akash. I assure you, I'm not saying this just to earn brownie points—it genuinely highlights the stark contrast in taste and quality. To be fair, there were a couple of positives in this experience. The food arrived promptly, still hot, and the prices were relatively affordable. These factors, however, pale in comparison to the overall lack of flavour and authenticity that we had hoped for in an Indian takeaway. In conclusion, if you're seeking a lackluster Indian-inspired soup experience, Akash may meet your expectations. However, if you're in search of a truly flavorsome culinary adventure with the taste and texture that Indian cuisine is renowned for, I would suggest looking elsewhere. "As an add dendum I did not stay in the rooms but the 5 stars is for food. We had a new year's eve lunch here. Every single dish was excellent. All made perfectly and tasted delicious. They do a range of food types from amazing burgers to haute cuisine type dishes. We had fish cake and cured trout for starters. Both amazing. My eldest (5 1/2) ate 2 portions of fish goujons. My youngest (2) ate all of hers. Wine very good, food and service amazing. I also want to take a moment to say how amazing, caring and attentive Maya our waitress was. I was quite demanding (a knock on effect from kids) but she listened and responded to every question and request perfectly. I couldn't ask for more from a server. Thank you so much Maya."
