There were 16 of us for lunch celebrating my Mum's 80th. The meals were served promptly and all were excellent quality. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We have eaten here afew times as a couple, and with friends, and the food has always been excellent.

What a wonderful pub. The food was delicious. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was brilliant and the locals were very welcoming. A truly dog friendly pub with everyone saying hello to our German Shepherd. I can't recommend the Carpenters Arms highly enough. Food was good but la bit of a hickup with the service. our deserts did not get out though to the kitchen. Decided not to have them but they still appeared on the bill. Took a long discussion to get the staff to understand what had happened. Then there was extra drinks on the bill that we had ordered. Didn't really get an apology or anything. Pitty would go back for the food not for the service. Food: 4

We have used the Csrpenters for years, having family get togethers and our 70th birthday parties there, it has always been our favourite. However, today we went for Sunday lunch and the meal was poor. Very little meat and vegetables were in short supply, so we were very disappointed, particularly because we were celebrating our guests 100th birthday. We had sung the Carpenters praises for a long time, but today they let us down Price per person: £20–30

Awful. Went as a group of 10 having pre ordered meals. Perhaps I made a poor choice. Liver and bacon with all the vegetables. What a disaster. Cold. Absence of any effort presenting it on the plate. Which was also cold. Pieces of onion appeared raw. Assorted lumps of liver which should have been delicious but weren’t. Returned to the kitchen for reheating. Came back and had not faired well in the microwave! Indeed my friend had ordered a lasagne. But no meal appeared. Eventually after some discussion a plate of fish and chips arrived with a comment to the effect that they would only charge the price of lasagne. What a joke! Parking: Empty.
