"we eat here regularly as I think that their haddock and chips are probably the best in the city, and my man can simply not get enough of the steak and merlot cake. the atmosphere is relaxed without loud mosac or freeze climate. the employees are the greatest advantage; pleasant, responsive, attentive, without being pushed and seem really interested in their customers. all around, I really can't blame it."

Came in on Monday for a birthday meal, we were served by Gareth who was so lovely and made sure we always had everything we needed. Had a lovely chat with Sam behind the bar too. Nice atmosphere, great staff and good food, will definitely be back! : Voir le carte

Nice looking pub with a selection of ales on offer. However, we were only here for breakfast having just stayed in the Premier Inn next door, so I can't give a very detailed review. Nice menu and friendly staff. Will definitely be back in to try it properly if we find ourselves in the vicinity.

Popped in here for food as we were staying at the premier Inn. Had the chicken tikka and the meatless roast dinner followed by cadburys caramel sundae. All the food was really nice, didn't have to wait long for the food. All the front of house staff were really nice. Would definitely come here again.

Nice food and atmosphere, the staff were lovely however both our food and drinks took ages to come leading us to be there for 2:30hrs in total which was a bit of a nightmare when we had two small children with us. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Travelled 7 miles to have a pint and some food with family.... The service wasn't quick, the Guinness wasn't available and the food was ok. There was nothing exactly wrong with the visit but everything about the experience was just ok hence the 3 stars. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
