"Decided to try The Bridge Inn as have heard good things about it. We came on Thursday just past, one of the first families of the night to come in as it opened. After being seated at a table by the waitress we noticed that my partner and our oldest daughter had a wet paint on their hands arms from the table. We notified the waitress and she happily moved us. Washed our hands clean before the meal came which was absolutely stunning, couldn’t fault it at all. Once we got home and got in good light (very very dim light in the restaurant) we noticed that the paint was all over my clothes and my daughters new jacket. I messaged them first thing the next day as I tried to wash the clothes first to see if it had come out. All of my messages were read without replies. It’s a shame really because we spent £125 on a meal and they didn’t have the decency or manners to even reply back. I felt like I was in a Wetherspoons, the restaurant was noisy, overcrowded, and very dark. The food and presentation were very poor, and the service was dreadful as the staff seemed rushed off their feet. To make matters worse, my wife ordered a latte which arrived cold and looked like dirty dishwater. This was our first and last visit, we will definitely not be returning. Had a booking for 7:15 and waited 30mins to be seated. Didn’t get our meal until 9:15. 2 hours after walking in the restaurant. The manager said there isn’t anything they could do and tried to blame the kitchen. Judging from latest reviews they need to stop overbooking as the whole experience was awful. Avoid at all costs will take your money and ruin your evening. Still cannot believe they made us pay the whole bill for such horrendous food and service. AVOID Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We waited for over thirty minutes to be seated at the restaurant. It took a while for our drinks order to be taken once we were seated. Our food did not arrive until around 9:15pm, even though our table was booked for 7pm. The quality of the food was just okay, not as good as previous visits. It took over 20 minutes to receive the bill after requesting it. Overall, we were very disappointed as we have had good experiences in the past at this restaurant. We do not plan on returning any time soon. Service: 1, Atmosphere: 2. Meal type: Dinner. Price per person: £30-40. Voir le carte

The overall experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to slow service and lackluster food. I visited on a Sunday and was disappointed to find that the carvery had been replaced by a limited Sunday menu that lacked flavor. The Sunday lunches did offer a choice of meats, but even those were missing promised sides like crackling on the belly pork. When I asked the server about this, they were rude. The service, atmosphere, and food all received a rating of 1 out of 5. I would recommend trying the Cheese Burger or opting for the Sunday Lunch instead. The price per person was £20-30 for a lunch meal.

Meal for 4 here tonight. Our first visit. Nice pub, pleasing and inviting interior. The menu is massive!! Traditional pub grub, Chinese, Italian and more!! 3 out 4 meals all good. I have The Desperate Dan pie which was big enough to feed a family!! Sadly it didn't come with the accompanying fries etc and service was non existent so I couldn't raise the problem. Just as well as I couldn't have eaten it all!! Just felt like I ate PIE and not a complete meal. The pie was tasty but had way too much gravy in. Wife had a Chinese chicken meal which she said was great. I saw a lot of waste food left on plates which is terrible. The portions are way too big. Table service was more or less non existen...

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
