"We visited here the day before and booked a table for the following evening as it’s a small venue. We had to come in quite late because it’s small, busy and gets booked up. We understand all of these things, but on the night in question we were greeted by more than one individual who seemed very stressed and spoke to us initially as if we didn’t have a table booked and couldn’t help us. This wasn’t a great first impression. Eventually we were seated at a table and given menus. We knew what we wanted to order quickly, but had to wait quite a while before anyone came over to take a drinks order. So when they did we ordered food at the same time. We waited quite some time for drinks and even longer for food. Although tables were finishing off there seemed to be a lot of tables still waiting for food. It felt a bit frantic and as if the kitchen was struggling to cope. When we received our mains they were nicely presented. The main issue was that one of the portions of chips was cold and the other was only lukewarm. The fish was okay in terms of temperature and was as expected in terms of flavour, apart from the lobster which was impossible to crack through using the basic tools provided, so it had to be returned to the kitchen for assistance which meant other food was cooling. It was a chilly evening, but the doors were open and the food cooled quicker still. The wine selection was good and the wine selected went well with the food. The desserts on offer looked amazing and we sampled them and can confirm that they were very good. The disappointment here comes from being provided with cold sides, inadequate equipment to get in to the lobster, chewy lobster meat and other fish cooling rapidly because the ambient temperature was falling rapidly and windows/doors remained open."

Beautifully cooked fresh food, incredible desserts, excellent service in a gorgeous setting. I’m just disappointed I didn’t find it earlier in my stay.

Welcoming staff, attentive to detail (put heater on for us as it was a bit of a wild night). All 6 of us really enjoyed our main courses but felt a bit let down by the standard of deserts (did not seem homemade). Would go back

Fabulous food, fabulous setting, fabulous setting. There were 8 of us in total but we all enjoyed our food… roast beef, roast lamb, chowder, Hake. All plates were served hot, wine was good, everywhere was clean. We had an excellent time… thank you !!

Ate here three times, first visit was for breakfast and booked for the evening hoping that they would have lobster on the menu. They had, we had a full and half lobster, cooked nicely but let down by not having the correct implements to eat them, no lobster pick and more like nut crackers than seafood cracker. Following evening had a decent meal, crab and prawns as starters then lamb and fish chips for main.

T 'was a grey and moist Monday morning, and a thought entered my head I need a Bacon Butty. So, a diversion into Red Wharf Bay and The BoatHouse was in order. Had a seat indoors, and ordered a Bacon Butty and a Pot of Tea. Most of the tables had visitors, and the staff seemed to be a bit stretched. Nevertheless, the tea arrived quickly, after a shortish wait, so did the bacon sandwich. Tea was a bit tepid by then, but both were fine and just what I needed. Good quality bacon.

"I've been to Dylans in Menai Bridge and always enjoyed it not this time. For the first half of our visit there was a stinging blue haze hanging in the air; the kitchen extractors clearly weren't functioning properly. Fortunately this cleared for the second hour we were there. Now to the service; after taking our drinks orders we waited nearly 15 minutes for them. Later, after staff had passed our empty glasses 20 times, we managed to order some second drinks by catching their attention. The food was the main problem; minuscule starters of crab and Welsh rarebit. My pizza came as a real surprise (as others have mentioned in previous reviews); gone is the thin crusted, well filled pizza of the past. The pizza is now about 20% smaller and my daughter mentioned that it looked like a child's portion. However, the main problem was the total lack of filling; there was a huge gap for at least an inch all round the pizza which was just fluffy dough. There were five tiny mussels on it and when I picked the mussel shells up they were so overcooked the shells turned to carbonised dust. I counted three tiny slices of red chilli. As others have mentioned, I realise the industry is having a hard time the price of the pizzas haven't gone up but the quantity and quality has plummeted and I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal. The pudding order came and was wrong. When the hot cross bun pudding came out it was still only on the wrong side of lukewarm. Don't get me started on the price of a pint of Aspalls £7.25, a price I would expect to pay in London. And before Lisa R replies that they would have replaced a dish, it would have been replaced with a similar disappointing dish....and no one bothered to ask us if everything was OK either during or after the meal anyway."
