"Beautiful and welcoming traditional country pub. Unlike nearby competitors the Blue Boar doesn’t have pretensions of being a high end gastro pub – it serves classic pub food at reasonable prices. But its always freshly cooked and the ingredients are good, so we’ve always come away feeling like we’ve had a good value meal. It’s a nice place to take a kid at lunchtime as there is a climbing frame in the garden. There is usually at least one ale on tap, and the Loose Cannon is particularly good."

Having a Sunday roast here and it's definitely worth the visit! We had the lamb and beef and both dishes were fantastic. Big Yorkshire pudding and lots of fresh veg too. Looking forward to dessert!

Beer was will kept but not many people were there and closing time was 10pm on a weekend because "it 's quiet out here in the sticks '. There was no sign up to say they were closing early. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Had a nice Sunday lunch, I ordered the gnocchi (vegetarian) and my portion was a lot less generous than everyone else who ordered roast or burger, which were very good portions (though not enough gravy). Quality was fine and it's a charming venue, full of curios, bare beams, an open fire and what looked like a nice outdoor area if the weather had been better!
