Dropped in early evening. •friendly staff •table service Choose to have small plates option We are a family of 4 had 7 between us. Was just enough. Dishes were all good.

Time after time the food is tip-top. Whatever you chose on the menu it is perfectly cooked and presented. The beer is awesome, of course. I recommend you order a large draft and get some small plates. You’ll come back for more.

I really wanted to like this place. I love their beer and service nice but the food is just poor. The prawn croquettes needed flavour and salt, and so expensive. The beef stew has 3 tiny pieces of beef and was mainly soggy chips, the burger was SO dry and tasteless. The schnitzel was nice but a bit greasy and 20 quid. The food prices are extortionate. Never again. May return for a beer

We called in last night for a drink as the place was opposite the hotel we were staying at. I ordered the beef stew and a beer. The beer was great but the beef stew was 2 small pieces of beef on soggy chips. I’ve seen a number of other reviews about the tiny portions and lack of meat in the stew. I’m sure the manager will respond saying it’s all lovingly prepared but listen to your customers.

My friends stumbled upon this place last year and recommended it for a visit. No if you want a pint of Stella or a weathspoons price point then don't bother.its not for you . Quality, unusual and artisan beers for the more discerning taste ,each beer is served by knowledgeable servers who know their stuff ,not cheap but then it's not your run of the mill beers , Quality snacks made with high quality ingredients worth every penny.

The Strawberry Thief is a small restaurant offering a wide range of Belgian beers, ciders and food with a European slant e.g. beetroot soup with new potatoes and bread. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy, with William Morris prints on the walls. Staff are very friendly and laid back and knowledgeable about the extensive selection of continental beers on offer. The menu allows you to choose from small plates through to larger mains. The portion sizes are quite small and quite pricey for what you get. Tasty nevertheless. Popular and dog friendly.

Was a bit skeptical when my wife suggested this as the menu looked a little fussy but needn 't have worried. It 's a small pub really but given over to food. The beer menu is vast but, if you know what you like, the waiting staff can steer you to something similar or if you can be tempted to try something different there are more off the wall options too. The food is kind of a Tapas style with smaller plates enabling you to have a number of options. Even the heartier option we had wasn 't enough on its own. Visited the Strawberry Thief for dinner and sampled a few of their Belgian Beers. The found was good Crispy Pork Belly with new potato's and pak choi with a sticky kriek boon fruit sauce was excellent as was the Stoofvelees (not quite so keen on the walnut dumplings). The Palm beer was excellent and the service really good. Would recommend a visit and enjoyed our visit. One very minor gripe and it is very much a personal thing when we paid the bill we had a 10% service charge added but nobody mentioned it (its shown as discretionary on the menu) but it was automatically added on and we also gave a cash tip which we prefer to do as we know staff then receive it directly. A pleasant little bar tucked away down one of the side streets off of the Corn Street strip, the focus does seem to be work on drinks here than food, with only one other table eating on our Friday evening visit. That said, it wasn’t very busy with drinkers either, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, although we did notice that he tables outside had been packed when we walked past earlier on. The drinks selection certainly has something of a Belgium theme to it, with a number of unusual offerings available both on tap and bottled.
