"Disappointed. Pretty mundane food, over priced and unclear menu and charges. I thought I was ordering short ribs and turned out to be a burger. We had unexpected extras charged on our bill which wasn’t made clear. Not a great feeling. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad with asparagus and it came without asparagus and we were charged £4 extra for the chicken! ‘ can you see any asparagus in the photo? ‘Do you want your burger with or without bacon?’ This presumably means ‘would you like to order bacon as a extra?’ as we found out when we got the bill with a bacon charge added. When I queried with Katarzyna she said she had asked if we would like extra bacon this was not true! You must sell clearly and make it known what will be charged. A simple pub lunch with 2 drinks for 3 adults and 2 children without starter or sweets came to £80. I will skip lunch here next time and do my weeks grocery shopping instead! I paid a cash tip, but, as I had my focus on the extras charged on the bill), didn’t see the 12.5 service charge addition as it’s easily missed as the total is in much larger print. So I paid a double tip by accident. I am happy to tip but it should be my decision and not forced upon me."

Good pub and nicely kept beer. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Well run pub with decent interior. Good location and has good sized car park for the area.

My husband and I came in last week for a burger and pint. I was impressed with the vegan burger. Hubby enjoyed his too. Nice pub and garden, and the staff were friendly. The service was very good.

Brilliant day in the garden during the coronation street party. The playlist over the speakers if you’re into late 90s/early-mid 2000s was the best I’ve heard. If anyone working there sees this let me know what Spotify playlist it is please

What a great find. My wife and I both had a delicious burger, hers a tasty vegan burger and mine a great hamburger. The side portions were large and tasted wonderful. We were both impressed by the selection of beers. Lastly, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back.

Tempted by the reviews we visited and were not disappointed. Excellent food well presented by friendly, welcoming and attentive staff who contributed to a wonderful meal. Wonderfully prepared and very tasty the food was light and not overfilling. Will certainly revisit and recommend to our friends.

Great staff, very reasonably and serve good beer. No issues if you ask for a top up etc. I usually find that an issue in pubs. Anyway this pub should be proud of its etiquette, really excellent. My dad played for the football team in 1974 and still drinks in here. One of the few fullers pubs they haven't ruined good work team who work there.

Great menu all in all, food was lovely and well presented. Incredible service is what made us thoroughly enjoy our first visit here today. We were served by a lovely girl called Kat, who was very friendly. Knows what she’s doing and what she’s talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is her main priority. We’ll definitely be back! This place is excellent!

My fiancé and I had to work almost one full day there, because our home Internet was down. They have sockets under the sofas, which is very handy. And they even turned the music lower when we kindly asked them, as we couldn't focus while working. The staff are amazing and friendly and kind. The food is good and tasty. It felt like an afternoon with the family. Go check them out!

The family had lunch here over the weekend and it was a great experience. The pub was busy, but a member of staff called Even helped by finding a table for 4 for us with shade, and then took a drinks order. The menu is classic and the food did not disappoint. Even checked in with us a few times in passing which was nice, and I felt that the pub had a more country feel in the service as opposed to the usual busy and rushed London style you tend to get. Will be back again when we are in the area.

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
