St Agnes - Carte

Stopped unexpectedly for early dinner. Lively, happy atmosphere. Friendly, buzzing bar area. Managed to get a table. Hearty fish and chips with a decent Cornish cider. Would recommend if looking for pub food.

Our fairly rambunctious group of 10 adults and 9 children descended on the St Agnes Hotel for a birthday lunch. I called the night before, and when we arrived they had set up a side room for us. Everybody was happy with their food, and the staff were calm, friendly, attentive and prompt.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was friendly, and the food was fantastic. I ordered the fish and chips, which came with delicious mushy peas and tartar sauce. The burger I had was also very tasty. The portions were generous and I appreciated that the restaurant is dog friendly. Voir le carte

I recently stayed at this restaurant with friends for the weekend and had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend this place to all my friends. The atmosphere was also wonderful.

As we passed by the unassuming front of the restaurant, my partner noticed the pizza sign and we decided to go in. To our surprise, we found a wonderful sun terrace at the back with a cool surfer meets tropical vibe and plenty of outdoor seating. The pizza was freshly cooked in a special booth outside, delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is dog and child friendly, and has a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We were staying local for a few days and popped into the hotel to have an evening meal. The place is quite lively with a mixture of locals and tourists. Varied beer and ciders on tap, and friendly staff. We checked the menu, but for perhaps a healthy option?? There were no chips served at the place! Burger and new potatoes, steak and new potatoes etc.... In my opinion, there should at least be a choice to have burger and chips etc... it is what goes together : We decided not to eat there and went to another local pub, further down the road and had a decent ham, egg and chips instead. Came for lunch, initial impression very welcoming, roaring open fire and welcoming staff. I was disappointed by the lack of choice on the menu, and chose a special from the board mushroom tagliatelle and a side of garlic bread. The main was ok, bit lacking in mushrooms, I think the garlic bread was out of the freezer, looked good but tasted of cheap spread. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, again lack of choice just 2 puddings and ice cream to choose from. The portion was tiny and again I had the impression it was out of the freezer, and microwaved, it tasted ok but was expensive for what it was, and there was no cream available not good when Cornwall is renowned for its clotted crea...

We arrived after a 5 hour drive from London, with lots of stuff and 2 small dogs a one night stay before a ultra marathon on the next day. Warmly welcomed and shown to our room which had a fantastic view. The room was beautifully presented and immaculately clean, with everything we needed, space for the dogs bed, immaculate en suite, tea making facilities and a TV. We ate dinner downstairs in the restaurant, which was superb with a great menu and fully stocked bar. We slept really well in the comfortable bed went down for breakfast early, it was delicious and plentyful, vegetarian breakfast with tea, orange juice and toast. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. I booked a table for dinner after I’d booked the room which was no problem. Very pleasant conversation with a member of staff who suggested we have a table in the main bar booth area which was nice and the atmosphere was fun. We had the special of Hake Risotto which was tasty. The room was clean and comfortable overlooking the church and the bed gave a good nights sleep. Maybe some hooks for hanging coats etc would be beneficial as storage is limited if you are staying for a few days. Having said that it is a very old building so this has to be considered.
