"My wife and I were the first people to experience the new Brunch service at the Priory Hotel. The food, delicious Ploughman’s followed by sublime Chocolate Mouse was just the start of what had to be one of the most special meals we have ever...had. We were privileged to have an in depth discussion with Paul, the proprietor and Ben his right hand man and we left with such a deep appreciation and respect for what Paul and his team have and continue to achieve each day. The norm on Trip Advisor or other travel websites would be to leave a review about the food and the service. But to just do that, would be to be doing a disservice to Paul and his team and what they are achieving at the Priory. I would challenge any of the people who log into this site to find another review of an establishment, where the goal is not only to serve wonderful food in a great atmosphere, which the Priory has in spades, but to then understand that the proprietor has built a successful business with staff that in most cases other employers would not even give a look at. Why, because all of Paul’s team who deliver fantastic service, prepare and serve amazing food are those people who often society treats as being difficult because of learning disabilities or behavioural issues. Paul, on the other hand saw something different when he started out on his journey at the Priory and believed that by treating those with learning and behavioural issues as people who have just like the rest of us something to contribute, has not only made a significant impact in helping his team to develop in ways that would make one struggle as a customer to see anything other then a young man or women member of staff completely focused and doing their job with pride and confidence. To know there was any difference between the people who served us today and other servers in other restaurants would be difficult. Please find the time if you are not from Louth, to go to the Priory and experience the food and the service. It was and will be for all of you that go a restorative experience both gastronomically but emotionally as well. A beacon of hope and passion in what has been an extremely difficult 15 months. My wife and I are very much looking forward to returning soon."

I returned for another taster menu' this week. Lockdown had prevented me far far too long. As always the food and presentation was exceptional, I lost count of the courses after 7, waiting in anticipation for the next one. At the end of the meal...Paul came to speak to us and introduced the young man who had prepared/cooked most of the menu. Harry deserves recognition, every dish was delicious. You have some completion Paul even if you are overseeing him,. The waiters were attentive without encroaching on our privacy and all staff wore masks and kept social distance. The hotel is also a beautiful place to stay.

We booked last minute and were a bit hesitant as we were unfamiliar with Louth, but what a pleasant surprise! The charming building is equipped with a unique selection of retro furniture. Our group of 4 had our own private dining room with a view of the beautiful garden. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent, priced at £25 per person for 2 courses and coffee, which was a steal for the quality. I especially enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that we could bring our dog into the private dining area. If we lived closer, we would definitely become regulars. There is also parking available right outside, which is an added bonus.

We ate at Serendipity in late November 2021. A table had been set in a separate dining area just for the two of us. It had been set with all of the cutlery and glasses placed to perfection on a lovely polished table. Although we...had expected 7 courses I think we actually had 9. Each course was well presented and I believe one had been specifically designed for us based on the local produce that I had discussed earlier with Paul, the manager and chef. All courses tasted superbly. We both thoroughly enjoyed them all. I must also mention the staff who served us with the food and drinks. They were really good and attended to all of our needs. In summary this is one not to be missed if you visi...

we visited the 3rd march to celebrate our high-time anniversary and had the 7-course menu. wow! what an amazing experience! every cure was beautifully presented and tasted incredible, with a lot of ingredients, melted together to make mouth water meal, skillfully cooked by paul...with its extensive knowledge of the kitchen. we have dined in the Captain’s room in a cozy and relaxed environment, which was expected by ben and tom attentively, who explained each cure in turn. for our joy we were served 3 additional courses! at the end of the meal we were offered a guide of ben, which explained the history of the prior in detail. what a fantastic night we will definitely visit again. this place i...

I don’t know where to start! The place is amazing, from the moment we were greeted by Daniel at the door . We were made to feel so welcome. Drinks in the bar, with the very knowledgable barman( sorry I think his name was Sam),...then shown though to our table in a little private room, just for the 4 of us. We were asked if the temperature was ok, if the music was too loud, they really wanted us to feel at home, and we did! As for the food…..just awesome, all 9 courses. I love the ethos of the place, the building, the enthusiasm of all the staff. The chef/owner came round at the end for a chat, just perfect. We ate mushroom tea, salmon with samphire, wild boar, shrimp hash, duck and popcorn s...

Overall the concept is great! The Serendipity is staffed by special people providing jobs for people with learning difficulties, in a quirky setting serving local seasonal food! The charm of the place is let down my the menu and not to sound sexist.. but...‘a woman’s touch’ when comes to detail and toilets! Food wise,.. Just a lot of dishes one after another… not tasting menu! Although local products and cooked correctly, felt the menu was poorly constructed and uncomplimentary! Lacked fluidity! Nothing to tantalize the taste buds (Amuse-Bouche just straight in with a hot ‘heavy’ meat ball dish! Felt full directly! No time or cleanse pallet before moving from meat to fish dish! Serving shell...

we went last night to serendipity in priority for the mysterium tasting menu. we were also overnight in this beautiful, quirky hotel. first, the service. that was honestly the best service we have received in a restaurant. the personal is fantastic, very attentive, but...not invasive. we had our own private dining room, which was fantastic and the waiters somehow arrived on time to gather each of our tellers as soon as we were done with each cursor. I wanted to draw attention to the workers we met; tom makes the best cocktails and is very attentive, daniel lived the evening with his interesting conversation, ben was one of the most efficient waiters I've ever seen, and paul is one of the mos...

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
